Ear Infections
Common causes of earache include different types of infection, injury, or pressure. Middle ear infections are especially common in children 2 years of age and younger and are often seen during or after a cold. This is the result of infection developing behind the eardrum where fluid may have accumulated during the cold. Outer ear infections (swimmer's ear), though painful, are quite different in that it is the skin lining the ear canal that becomes infected and painful. This typically happens during the summer with older kids who have been swimming, thus the term "swimmer's ear."
Sleep Disorders
There are numerous factors that are related to bedwetting. Unless t here are other urinary concer ns, isolated nighttime bedwetting is most often related to maturational delays of the nervous system and urinary system. There is also strong genetic correlation for bedwetting; roughly 50% of children who deal with prolonged bedwetting have a parent who also dealt with bedwetting as a child. Smaller bladder capacity, constipation, certain ENT conditions, and sleep disorders can also be associated with prolonged bedwetting.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common neurobiologic disorder characterized by developmentally inappropriate levels of (1) inattention, (2) hyperactivity, and (3) impulsivity. Some children may not have the hyperactivity or impulsivity and may primarily exhibit inattention. ADHD is a behavioral disorder, making it difficult to quantify, but it is one of the most prevalent chronic health conditions affecting school-age children.

ADHD is defined as a mental health disorder in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual 4th Edition (DSM IV) (Table 1). The diagnosis requires a comprehensive clinical evaluation based on identifying children who have the core symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. No single ADHD test is available to establish the diagnosis, but rather a physical examination and battery of standardized psychological tests are preformed to rule out other causes, either physical or psychological, for the child’s difficulties.

Your initial prenatal appointment should include an extensive health exam and testing that can ensure a healthy start to pregnancy. This appointment should include a confirmation of the pregnancy by pelvic exam and an estimated due date based on your last cycle or through an ultrasound. All women should be screened for HIV since this virus can be passed from you to your baby. If you test positive, your doctor can prescribe medication to reduce the chances of your baby being born HIV positive. Prenatal visits during the first trimester can also help to address unhealthy lifestyle habits that can negatively affect your pregnancy.

Eczema
That's it, there are no other rules. If your family has a strong history of allergy or it is thought your child has eczema, discuss advancing solids and even formula changes with your pediatrician.
