You've heard of Corky's and the Neely's now it's time to spotlight a family owned business with superior hospitality, barbeque, and affordable prices. Pollard's BBQ is a hidden gem in Memphis, TN with superior hospitalilty. Everytime you walk in the cashier greets you with a warm smile and friendly greeting. From the door they make you want to know what their all about. Next, you place your order in this modest establishment with only a counter and a couple of chairs to sit and wait. It's carry out only which makes it hard because after you get your order you want to eat it right then and there. Then you get the barbeque, I personally order the BBQ turkey family pack which includes your choice of sides, which I always choose slaw and spaghetti. It's so delicious! Finally you can't beat the prices. They are resonable and you get your money's worth. I highly recommend Pollard's BBQ, it's the hidden gem of the South.
If you like dry ribs or if you have never tried dry ribs you have to come to this place. They are better than any other BBQ place in Memphis when it comes to dry ribs. There are some close competitors for the wet ribs and depending on your taste you may or may not think BBQ-Shop's wet ribs are any better than Neelies or Interstates or Corkies. Once you have tried their dry ribs you will never go back to wet ribs. The atmosphere and the prices can't be beat either. If you don't eat pork don't dispare! They have the best BBQ brisket sandwich in the state. Try it between their Texas toast. You have to try their Cole Slaw. I hate cole slaw and I get a double order every time I come to this place. If you like onion rings you have to get a side with your meal or as an appetizer. You waon't regret it. Forget any diet and come give this Mid-Town restaurant a try. You won't regret it.
By the way the chicken is really delicious and is one of the best in the country, but that is all I have to say great about this place. The customer service is horrible...I waited a century for everything I requested. They deep fry chicken...it shouldn't take that long to serve people regular portions in general. By God...if I was dying of thirst....a good waiter knows what people want and when they might need something. They just had no good communication skills. The price on the chicken is a little high...there no good deals to go by. Your either teased by a few pieces or pay a fortune with more. All in fairness...my mom cooks them better. Thank God for that.
