I was told this groomer has won "Medina's Best" two years running, and after my experience I cannot imagine why.
I dropped my Yorkie off for grooming at 8:30 and was to pick him up at 5:30 that afternoon.
When I arrived there was a group of three people hovering around a bleeding dog. Then I realized it was MY dog.
The technician had cut my dog's ear (not sure why they were cutting his ear hair, it is naturally short). They appeared to have no knowledge about how to treat a wound.
They were yelling at my dog to hold still, and applying dab after dab of "stypic" pencil ointment...trying to stop his bleeding. Then he would shake his head and the bleeding would resume.
The technician told me he was cut "because he moved".
At no point did anyone wash the wound, apply antiseptic, or apply pressure so the bleeding would stop.
The worst part....two of the three people hovered around my dog WERE SMOKING.
The owner of the grooming facility then appeared and offered me "five dollars off" my services.
My dog has his second vet appointment tomorrow to see if they can re-attach the flap of ear that they cut.
WHO SMOKES AROUND ANIMALS THAT THEY ARE GROOMING?
Not only did he come home bleeding and scared, but with lungs full of smoke, and smelling like an ashtray.
Find a groomer that is trained in first aid for animals and DOES NOT SMOKE around your pet.
