The historic McMenamins Hotel Oregon is nestled in McMinnville, OR amidst beautiful wine country.

Business Description
On McMinnville's charming, old main street, Hotel Oregon strikes an inviting pose - as it has since 1905. Once home to a restaurant and lounge, banquet hall, Greyhound bus depot, Western Union, soda fountain and beauty parlor, the handsome four-story building we call Hotel Oregon is a delightful destination in the heart of Oregon's wine country.Warm lighting in the first floor pub, cozy tables and an impressive 40-foot long back bar invite close conversation over the glint of a fresh pint or maybe a game of shuffle board in the Paragon room. Artwork and wall hangings inspire thoughts of the past and a trip to the subterranean bistro-style Cellar Bar or magnificent Rooftop Bar (with its breathtaking 360-degree view of the region) are a must for any visitor to the hotel.

We have eaten at many other McMenamins

We have eaten at many other McMenamins before so for my son's birthday we chose the one in McMinnville since we were there for a track meet at Linfield. BIG MISTAKE!!!! Order was screwed up with two meals not delivered until everyone else was through waiters changed in the middle, and the bill charged us one meal too much. Not happy.

Romance in a creepy place

We stayed in a Queen with a private bath. Even this room was way too small. When I opened the door, I could barely get my luggage in without hitting the bed. We picked the romance package which came with a bottle of Edgefield sparkling wine, handmade local chocolates and massage oil. Very nice! We didn't eat here because we both feel McMens has grown tired - and there are so many great new restaurants in McMinn. If you like a tiny room with a creepy atmosphere, this place is for you!

Wedding Drunks with LOUD Music

The hotel fails to inform you that there will be a wedding reception 10 FEET from your room. And drunk people will be all over in the halls and outside your window yelling and throwing up. Then they will pass out up above your room and leave the radio blasting ALL NIGHT til 6:30 in the morning. The evening Hotel desk clerk just looks at you with a blank stare when you complain.

A wonderful, simple place

Our visit to Hotel Oregon was an experience in ""enough"". There wasn't a TV in the room, but we didn't miss it. There was a sink in the room, but you had to go down the hall for the shower and bathroom, and it was fine. The room had a bed, a chair, space for a couple of suitcases, and a really tiny closet that turned out to be perfect for everything we needed to hang.

All in all, you won't overpay for stuff you won't use here. If you're looking for a good night's sleep in a room with a sense of place, this is your spot.
