Not at all impressed. Too short staffed. Staff rushing around too much & could not pay attention to detail in the facility.

My Mom was at Sacred Journey for a very short time before passing. The staff was comforting and professional and treated us both like we were long time clients. Highly recommend them!

My grandmother is currently under their care in a memory care facility. I can't tell you how comforting it is to me to know there is a social worker visiting with her there every Sunday, when I have run into her! She has really excellent care and comfort, and as she has declined, they have stepped up the care for her, while allowing her to stay in her "home" at the memory care. She has her friends there, and she does not have to be treated any differently just because she's at the end of her journey. I hate that we all have to go through this, but Sacred Journey has been compassionate to all of us and I think there are even things for the kids who are losing a loved one. I believe we were told the actual hospice house was for those who were breathing their last - it's not a nursing home. The other reviewer must have been really disappointed that their loved one was not immediately dying, and that's sad.

My sister was a resident of Sacred Journey during the last stages of lung cancer. Just passed away Jan 18 2013 at Sacred Journey they kept her comfortable and maintained her pain. They kept the family informed and made them as peaceful and comfortable as possible. Hopefully you will never have the need of such a facility but should it arise I highly recommend Sacred Journey. Our family had a very bad expe...

Our family had a very bad experience with the management of this hospice. Long story short, they accepted a family member for care, changed their mind a couple days later, attempted to remove our family member from the facility because they said this person was too healthy. All of this without ever performing a proper medical examination by a physician. All medical care decisions were made by RNs who were not caring for my family member. It was a fiasco that wasted our time and tested our patience. If you can avoid them, please do.

This all happened about a month before my family member passed away. Thank goodness for Christian Ministries Hospice in Griffin, Ga.

Although most patients admitted to the in-patient unit decline, there are those who actually get better. On those rare occasions, the patient must be discharged from the in-patient setting, and either sent home with hospice care, or, to a more appropriate in-patient setting, such as nursing home, or assisted living. While every effort is made to ensure that any patient who comes into the Sacred Journey facility meets the guidelines set forth by Medicare and Medicaid, some people surprise us and actually get better…this is viewed by us as a “good thing”. While we understand the stress this may place on the patient’s loved ones at this very difficult time, it is never appropriate to keep someone in any hospice facility, who does not meet certain criteria. Therefore, we will continue to evaluate each patient individually, and do our utmost to ensure that he/she is being provided the best care possible, in the most suitable environment.
