No matter which meal you come there for you get satisfied. They are open 24 hours and have a breakfast bar open until noon, and it has all you could eat for what i think is a good price. Bacon, sausage, mini pancakes, french toast, different fruits, mini cereals, potatoes, grits, biscuits and toast. They also have a good selection of meals to order for good price. Their pancakes are the best you can get. All food tastes fresh and tasty. On the other hand for lunch you can order any food on the menu. There are hamburgers regular or double which taste fresh and delicious, and the fries are big and they give a good amount of them. They have pretty much every american food which goes from a buffalo chicken sandwich on texas toast to catfish with a side of rice and broccoli. I insist that you go to this restaurant for any meal if your in the mood for a good meal. They also have a salad bar full of every dip you can think of and you can make your unlimited amount of salad with anything on it as many times as you want.

Palenque Grill is definitely the best mexican restaurant in McAllen. The prices are a bit steeper than the average place, but the food is worth it. Although they removed it off the menu, I suggest you order the tilapia ceviche right when you sit down and before you order drinks since it takes about 20 minutes to make (well worth it). This place has some of the most prompt and attentive service in the McAllen area. They start you off with chips and a roasted pepper and chile salsa along with warm refried beans which compliment each other wonderfully. We even went for breakfast and asked them to make us some mexican style breakfast dishes that weren't on the menu and they said no problem. We visit this place often and the food and service are very consistent. The owner definitely holds his staff to a high standard which is reflected in every part of the experience.
This is a favorite restaurant of mine. The food is unlike anything else you'd find in the valley because everything is extremely fresh. You can't go wrong with any of their salads; my favorite is the pecan smoked turkey salad always accompanied with their homemade dressing of your choice. Their artichoke dip and hummus (the hummus is unlike any other ive ever tasted; very exquisite) are the best! The only downfall to this restaurant would be some of their staff. I've run in to my fair share of unfriendly and slow servers and hate waiting forever for the check at the end. We usually ask for the check 15 min before we're done eating because we figure by the time they bring it we'll be done eating our meal. Over all, great restaurant, decent prices and nice ambiance.
