CANCELLATION TERMS ARE EXPENSIVE

I cancelled my membership because I'm female and after seeing women walking around disrobed which un-nerves me since I am heterosexual. I asked management what their policy was on being disrobed showing your entire body and they stated that they do not have a policy on walking around freely unclothed and loving it. Too bad for the guys Urban Active is not coed huh.



So I gave notice and was forced into an exit interview and did not want to bring this dislike of women with no clothes on clearly enjoying the exposition because it is clearly acceptable at Urban Active. I told the exit interviewer Audrey (lucky me this much is true) that due to the economy we were paying off all of our debt and discontinuing anything that involved charging our credit card.



I also told her I expected not to be billed anymore and I did not expect anymore charges after March 2, 2009. She did not say that there would be 2 more months of charges or that I would continue to be charged for the next 60 days and that I could continue to visit the club until the cut off date at the exit interview. When I called 6 weeks later to contest 2 monhts of charges she was very curt and loud and said there was nothing I could do about it as it was written in the contract.



I went out paid for a BowFlex in full and have a great workout area in my home now.



When I called headquarters at 877-824-3571 to complain about my experience a very curt Amanda who refused to give me the owner/CEO/President's name (which is Royce Pulliam) so that I could explain in writing via registered mail and facsimile about being charged for 2 months and not notified at the exit interview.



It was disappointing enough to know that I had paid 2 months and could have been visiting the facility but the attitude of the two women I spoke with, Audrey the Manager and Amanda the receptionist at the home office led me to warn the public.



So buyer beward if you take out a membership.
