Matlock Tire Service

I have been going to matlock over ten years and they are great! I enjoy the comfortable seating. However I feel they need more diverse reading material in the waiting room. Also please do not lie to me and tell me that my car is next in line when it is not!!! Honesty goes a long way!

I have taken vehicles to Matlock Tire for well over 10 years and have never had the first problem! There have been numerous times when I have sent my children and friends to their facility and they always had the same excellent service experiences that I always have. Being a woman with perhaps more than the average knowledge of mechanical problems, I often found myself the target of less than honest mechanics who thought they could take advantage of my ignorance. I have walked away from countless shops because I am not stupid. However, Matlock Tire - and Jimmy Matlock in particular - have always talked to me honestly and with respect. They have had opportunities to charge me for repairs I did not need, but they never did. I highly recommend this business and in fact have driven 75 miles to let them fix an issue on one of my vehicles rather than allow anyone else work on my vehicle!

I took my car to Matlock Tire to have tires mounted and installed.



When they were done I looked underneath the side of the car, and they had put about a dozen, very deep gouges into the paint on the side ferring where they lifted the car incorrectly. I explained beforehand how to lift the car properly without damaging it. No matter, they ignored me, lifted it the way I told them NOT to lift it, and damaged it anyway.



After viewing the carnage, I went inside and told (I assume the owner) Jimmy Matlock he needed to look at what they did to my car. He came out and started smearing his hand around hard on the dirty (and now gouged and scratched) paint. Mr. Matlock seemed unimpressed, offered no apology, and offered no refund.



He handed me a card for a local "fly by night" mechanic, and said to call him. Then he walked away. I got the impression that sending customers damaged cars to get repaired wasn't an uncommon occurance at Matlock Tire. It certainly wasn't worth even an apology from Mr. Jimmy Matlock.



I had always done business with Fisher Tire, and they were always outstanding in every way. Next time, I will RETURN to Fisher Tire to have tire work done on my cars. I highly recommend you do the same.
