Through experience I have learned that if you are in a small town, going out to the movies can be a very eye opening experience. Usually not in a good way. 50 year old theaters that haven't been cleaned in almost as long seems to be the norm. However I recently found myself in Maryville Missouri on business and was looking to kill some time. At a gas station I asked the manager what suggestions he had. When he mentioned going to the movies I said thanks but no thanks not wanting to expose myself to what I knew would be another bad experience. He kept assuring me that it was the place to be and besides I could eat dinner there as well. Reluctantly I decided to take his suggestion and go to the movies at the Hangar. WOW! What a surprise! This place has to be seen to be believed. All I can say is what the heck is this place doing in Maryville Missouri? Incredible atmosphere, very comfortable stadium seating and top notch service. I had dinner in the dining room but I later learned that one of the screens is set up for full service dining. The staff was kind enough to give me a quick tour of the dinner theater after my movie and I can honestly say I have never seen anything like it. I say again, what the heck is this place doing in Maryville? If this place was right next to an AMC they would still do great! The food by the way was ok, mostly Italian which is not my favorite but very reasonably priced. However the atmosphere made the food taste a whole lot better! Needless to say I am looking forward to my next business trip to Maryville. Does anybody know who owns this place?
