I went to food city to get some hispanic food, and i was in a hurry, I just moved to this area few months ago, and when i stepped into the store i noticed it was very clean , but like i said i was in a hurry, there was a worker there that out performed my expectation.. He was great i couldent find an item and he asked me if i needed help, I said yes, he directed me right to the item i was looking for, and when, I went up and i noticed the line was little busy, but it was a peak time every body was getting off wk, the kind worker walked up with me and asked if i needed anything else, I said no but when he looked at the line and i told him i was im a hurry earlier, he rushed and opened a register for the people in line. I was inpressed that he truly cared on his work, I asked his name and he said his name was jean and he was the store director. I never seen a store director worked that hard and cared that much. I wish there was more people like him. most grocery store people rairly help.. but give the store and his great service a 9.5 .. thx Tim.G

Since Wild Oats (on Camelback and 40th St.) was taken over by Whole Foods, and subsequently closed, despite promising everyone that it would remain open, Sprouts on Indian School and 28th St. is the only alternative grocery store available in the neighborhood. They have an EXTENSIVE vitamin/mineral/supplement section in their store. Almost 1/5 of the store are these products. They have great produce (although never iceberg lettuce it seems), and a wide WIDE variety of health foods (both canned, boxed, frozen, and bagged). I personally like their deli area that carries a lot of hard to find items such as soft liverwurst (an acquired taste of those east of the Mississippi). Their fresh meat section is solid and their bakery area, although small, seems jammed packed so you can find something that fills the craving for your sweet tooth. Pricing is in line with other health food stores so be prepared to pay for quality. You don't want to go to this store and buy the eco-friendly toilet paper or paper plates. Go to Walmart for tp. It all gets flushed down the drain so spend the money wisely when visiting this store.
Went to Fry's Mercado for the special on Cottage Cheese- the items on the shelf were all out dated August 22,2009 and August 28,2009. The containers were expanding due products going bad. This is a Health Hazzard for customer to buy dairy products that have expired shelf time. I called the Manager Bianca to voice my concern- we will see what she plans to put in place to correct this problem and health hazzard.
