General Info

Hello! My name is Jeff Lehman. I am the Owner, Founder, Marketing Director, Website Administrator, Customer Service Representative, Accountant, Operations Manager, and Music Therapist for Archtop Music Therapy LLC. It is my mission to provide music therapy services that increase functioning, facilitate learning, and improve quality of life. My area of experience and expertise is individuals with special needs. I was employed as a full-time Music Therapist for the Special School District of St. Louis County (SSD) from 2008 through 2015. In 2014, I received a Lasting Impression Award. I am the only SSD Music Therapist ever to be honored with this award. My students ranged in age from 5 through 21 years old. Students’ diagnoses included Autism, Intellectual Disability, Multiple Disabilities, Other Health Impairment, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Emotional/Behavior Disorders, Seizure Disorder, Sound System Disorder, Down Syndrome, Fragile X Syndrome, Rett Syndrome, and Williams Syndrome. I saw students at Litzsinger, Neuwoehner, Mark Twain Elementary, McGrath Elementary, Claymont Elementary, Green Trails Elementary, Highcroft Ridge Elementary, Pierremont Elementary, Shenandoah Valley Elementary, Parkway Central Middle, Parkway Southwest Middle, Parkway West Middle, Parkway Central High, Parkway South High, and Parkway West High. During my time at SSD, I supervised six part-time Music Therapy Practicum Students and two full-time Music Therapy Interns. Both of my former interns have gone on to be employed as full-time Music Therapists for SSD. After finishing my university course work, completing a six-month internship at Special School District, and passing a Board Exam, I received my Music Therapy Board Certification. (MT-BC stands for Music Therapist – Board Certified.) I maintain my Board Certification by earning at least one hundred Continuing Music Therapy Education (CMTE) credits every five years. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Maryville University, with a Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy. I received straight A’s except for one A minus from a professor with a zero-tolerance absence policy… even if I had the flu. In addition to my internship, I completed practicums at Special School District, Edgewood Children’s Center, St. Anthony’s Medical Center, as well as a number of nursing homes, assisted living centers, and retirement communities. In my graduating class, I was honored with the Maryville University Excellence in Music Award. I took weekly piano lessons from kindergarten through 12th grade. I got my first guitar in high school and taught myself how to play. At Maryville University, I declared guitar as my primary instrument to get some official lessons under my belt. I played guitar and piano in the school Jazz Ensemble. For my senior recital, I played electric guitar, acoustic guitar, classical guitar, piano, mandolin, xylophone, percussion, and sang.
