I was recently searching the yp.com for some new uptown restaurants that my husband and I haven't tried. I came across Pascal's which is one of our favorites and read the below review and had to pass a comment along. I have to completely disagree. For the past 15 years I have been a regular customer at Pascal's Manale. Never have I ever been disappointed. The food and service is always up to par. This restaurant is family owned and it has the "old" New Orleans vibe which is definitely rare to come by anymore in the city. The restaurant was given some updates after Katrina which are lovely and kept the same ambiance as before the storm. As for the food, every dish is a good dish. Whatever the specials are, I highly recommend getting them. They oysters Rockefeller & Bienville are amazing, the oyster bar rocks. Also I love how family friendly the restaurant is, as well. If anyone has had a bad experience here, I would definitely recommend giving it another try. It may have been a bad night.

By far the best brunch in the city!! And dinner is great too!! The bloody Mary bar is heaven!! Their mix is the perfect blend of spices. Highly recommend any brunch item including a poached egg, especially the eggs louisianne.. Served on top the largest crabcake I've ever seen. Also, their duck confit hashbrowns with blackberries, mango, and poached eggs are amazing!! Best grits too! As far as dinner, we had the shrimp and grits and crawfish stuffed flounder. Both dishes had great flavor. Highly recommend the red velvet cake for dessert. It was dense but still airy and the cream cheese icing was perfect! And the decor has great southern charm and the staff is very welcoming. All in all everytime I've been I find one more reason to be in lust with this place!!
Have to agree with a lot of posters that a lot of the food is only average. But the shrimp po boy and the fried chicken really do stand out. The shrimp was perfectly seasoned and cooked, and so tasty with the sauce. The bread was a little dry, but overall it was good. Fried chicken was the real star. DELICIOUS breading and so incredibly juicy and tender was the meat. Sadly, the shrimp creole and jambalaya were just so-so. Mother's is also famous for its Bloody Marys, which I have to say were quite good. Maybe a little spice could be bumped up, but the balance was really nice between all the strong flavors. Had to have two!
