I met Allan Hogan, who I understand is the two owner’s son. "Well" he is well educated yet very down to earth. He worked with us to not only find exactly what we were looking for but at a price ( 46% off what we had seen for the exact same item in Fort Worth and this included insured shipping to our home in the Forth Worth area). This store has real atmosphere about it. They were covered up in customers since this is not a local secrete, The background conversations between the owners (Butch & Linda) or "LINDA & BUTCH" thus L&B were hilarious. We would have stopped, (oh it is located in Marion NC just beside I-40 very easy to reach.) just to hear the local humor. It seems that all are very well educated but know how to temper knowledge with value added info. I saw a sign indicating that they were Asheville, NC's Number one furniture store. We were on our way to Asheville as part of our NC vacation, we found Asheville 25 min's up the hwy. This indicates to me that this is the place to purchase furniture. All our friends and family back in Texas and Fla., are now calling and confirming model, make, company and ordering. With shipping and insurance (I was extremely surprised that L&B kelp the cost so that the entire shipping cost was virtually unnoticeable as in $38 more). Some young man came walking in with scuba gear in hand, One older gentleman had honey in jars, and one lady inquired about the use of the store phone (One with a cord that plugs into a regular phone jack) "not a cell Ph", She was complexly convinced that since the store is located in the beautiful foot hills of western NC. that "Sure she could use the phone but just understand we have many hills around and if the signal gets weak just hand me a C-cell battery so I can keep the power strong enough to top these mountains around us). “Oh MY” replied the lady, "I think we may have some in the car but do you sale them, just in case???" She was assured it was a phone just like any other and required no batteries for calling uphill. Her husband purchases a Lazy-boy recliner due to his ongoing laughter. "No one has ever got her like that one" he replied. Now that I have heard her laugh out loud ( This must have been rare) I think I need an easy chair just in case it happens again I may get lucky and capture it on a recording so I can set in my Lazy-boy by our fire place and Laugh (“on the inside you understand”). - - - - This is a High Quality, speedy delivery, follow up on, and great place to visit. I understand some bus tours or load of people come hear to shop. My husband & I were very lucky to have just made a split second decision and stop. I have now used my time to write this because it was the best present we found in every state from Texas to NC. I think Linda kinda runs the place, Allan works it and Butch is the entertainer.
