This is a lengthy review, but I need to educate others of how horrible Stephanie Clements's work is. She ruined my hair, and I will be paying the price for years until it all grows out. Read on...



Though I had long hair, I wanted a bit more length and fullness, so I had Stephanie Clements put in hair extensions. BIG MISTAKE IN GOING TO STEPHANIE @ CIAO.



In the consultation, Stephanie said the extension could last 6-8 months would good care. Great! I thought! If you knew me, I take good care of all my stuff- my house is immaculate, I vacuum and wash my car every Sunday, I get a mani every 2 weeks to keep my nails long and healthy, I take 6 vitamins every morning... You get the point. I take care of stuff, and I can take care of extensions, esp. to get my money's worth with 6-8 months of use.



They didn't last much more than a month.



I didn't care for the extensions from the get-go, the hair smelled very unpleasant (You know that just-out-of-the-shower smell? Yeah, say good-bye to that.). The extensions were not blended well at all. Sure, the color matched, but my hair never looked GOOD, rather I always looked like I was a woman who hadn't yet let go of her high school long hair. NO STYLE. Just there.



Within 3-4 weeks they were matting at the root. By week 6, I felt like there was a Brillo pad on my scalp, that's how BADLY the ROOTS WERE MATTING. Why was it matted? 1) The placement of the extensions @ the application process was all wrong, 2) Improper care. Stephanie NEVER INFORMED ME, her client, TWO IMPORTANT CARE STANDARDS: 1) Sleep with your hair in a ponytail, and 2) Never sleep with your hair wet. I didn't follow either of these rules b/c STEPHANIE FAILED TO EDUCATE ME HER CLIENT ON THESE CARE INSTRUCTIONS. She only showed and told me how to brush them properly. So it was no wonder they did not last.



Furthermore, as other extension professionals (though I hardly consider Stephanie a professional) noted, it's NEVER ADVISABLE TO LEAVE EXTENSIONS IN FOR MORE THAN 2 MONTHS. Wow, she way mislead me on this.



B/c it was a matted and tangled mess as the result of her work, I need to get the extensions out ASAP to prevent further damage to my own hair. Of course I wasn't going to go to Stephanie to do this task; her "expertise" has gotten me in the literal mess to begin with. I didn't even want to bother reporting to her to show her what she had done. In my phone conversations she was cordial, but yet indigent of taking responsibility for her failure of full disclosure and failure to provide care instructions. That's the service I paid for! Rather, I went to Mermaid in Kirkland, and they took out the extensions. 3-4 girls on my head at once and it took them 3 hours. By the end, there was no way to salvage all my own natural hair. I was ripped out as a result of the matting. I took video to show this if you're interested.



I asked for my $ back and of course she said no, denied, denied, denied any wrong-doing. I reported her to the BB, and I am here today to tell you to GO TO A REAL PROFESSIONAL. She might be cheap, but her work is horrible, and she obviously doesn't know what she is talking about.
