We ate here for our anniversary and had a 6:30 reservation. We felt rushed by the waitstaff as they tried to take our drink order the second we sat down and brought out our entrees as they were clearing our first course. The appetizer (tuna tartare) was very good, but our entrees were just so-so. Unfortunately, my fish (the barramundi) was not cooked at all and completely raw in the middle which I have never had happen at a restaurant. We had to send it back and it took them 10 minutes...view more to bring me a cooked version, by which time my husband was finished with his entree. His steak au poivre was good but the barramundi was very bland. The restaurant did not comp us anything for the screw up. For $186, we will not be returning.view lessProvided by Citysearch

I have been looking around for good food, and good deals, and thought the rough economy might produce some. I was right! At least this restaurant.
My wife and I tried Cafe Pierre, because of an article I read awhile back. Now, she started out skeptical as with most of my choices, but was immediately impressed with starters. The Foie Duo was out of this world, and a perfect balance of flavor for the skeptic.

I had the Wild Boar Pasta, sounded different, and I have to admit it was. I can't really explain, except by saying it was new to me. Maybe, it was how all the flavors blended so well together, but I felt like I could taste so much in one bite.
My feasting partner was equally impressed with her Tai Snapper, though she wouldn't let me taste any. A first.
Anyway, after cleaning our plates , we could only squeeze in one dessert between the two of us. We had the Remi Apple Tart, named according to our server, after the chef, At this time it was predictably perfect, and I can still taste it as I write this. Good job, Cafe Pierre!! You made this a special occasion.view less
My favorite splurge restaurant in town! The food is diverse and consistently wonderful. I also love their wine list, unlike many other area restaurants in the area I appreciate that Cafe Pierre offers a wide regional selection of wine at a semi decent price structure.
My only con is that on a weekend it can be down right noisy, but even then I enjoy my time here!
I had my birthday celebration with 15 guest and we had an EXCELLENT service from our waitress.\r
The owner happened to be in the restaurant that nigh and made sure that all was okay, that was AWESOME! \r
I said I wanted to be seated by 8:00 yes my guest and I we're seated promptly our table was ready for us. \r

Cafe Pierre was recommended to me as an excellent Manhattan Beach restaurant, so we tried it. It was not crowded on a Monday night, so we didn't have to worry about people at other tables. The tables are close to each other. All the food was good. The portions were on the small size.\r
It was a good restaurant. Not the best, but very good. If you are in Manhattan Beach and want to try a decent restaurant, give it a try.\r
Cafe Pierre is the type of place where people feel comfortable. I have only been there once but could tell by the ambience and fellow diners that the locals that go there have ""always' eaten there. There is a sense of familiarity and comfort when you go inside, the feeling that these people know good food and know where they can find it. It is the type of place, I feel, where you can tell the waiter you want ""the usual."" Cafe Pierre is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and...view more it appears to be doing better than ever. I have passed by the place several nights in a row, and every night it is full. That's why I chose to finally dine there, after I realized that empty places usually are not the good places to get good food. I was correct in my decision to try Cafe Pierre... they have a collection of traditional French food, and you can find something for everyone to eat and be happy with. I went with my boyfriend and it was a great dining experience for a date... not necessarily an anniversary date, although others have said they went for that purpose. This is a kind of place where I can see my parents eating comfortably as well. All in all I would say it's worth every penny for the food and service.view lessProvided by Citysearch
This is such a beautiful place to celebrate a special occassion or for a first date (you will definitely be getting a kiss at the end of THIS one!). It's a smaller place with a very intimate feel. Romantic atmosphere and tasty food. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. I can't wait to go back.Provided by Citysearch
My gfriend and i came here for our anniversary last night and everything went very well. We just so happened to get a parking spot exactly in front of the restaurant. If we didn't, there's a parking structure behind the restaurant. i made reservations though i'm assuming most nights you don't need to. There were many seats readily available @ 6:30pm on a tuesday.
For dinner, we had two ice teas, crab cakes, skirt steak, half chicken, and the vanilla bread pudding (which was re...view morecommended in the last review). Presentation for everything was simply fabulous, honestly. Our service was attentive and everything looked great and most importantly, everything TASTED great. (cost of dinner: $61.00 before tip).
Overall, it's a great little place in a great little neighborhood. The ambience and service was great for any type of date. My gfriend was impressed! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.view less
