If you are a big fan of NY style pizza (thin crust) , Randy's is the place for you. I prefer lots of sauce and cheese (double of both) VERY WELL done (call it burnt! and it's perrrrfect!!), no edge crust....sauce and cheese right to the edge.....Randy's will make it exactly the way you like it ..... every single time. They use good olive oil...a must and no cheap parmesan cheese at the table...it's very good quality. The service is excellent, very good and friendly staff. The tomato sauce is so excellent - has little chunks of tomato which makes it so tasty....my mouth waters just thinking about the pizza here !!!!
They've been in business forever and the reason is simple: great food at reasonable prices! When they say "giant grinder," they mean it - and it's delicious. My favorites are ham & cheese and chicken parm. Their pizza is also great - sauce not too sweet, generous cheese and toppings. And, their's are the only wings I'll eat - "mild" is spicy enough for me, and not mushy at all. To sum it up, other places are closer or deliver, but we'd rather drive a few miles to get great food at CJ's.
I've been a Pepe's fan since I was a kid and had my first real pizza at Pepe's in New Haven on Wooster Street. Unfortunately, it's an hour drive from my home. I was delighted to find that Pepe's was opening a branch in Manchester, a mere half an hour drive! We went for the first time last week, and I can honestly say that it's just as good as Wooster Street! Come early, though, or you'll be facing an hour wait in line! But you'll be rewarded with the best pizza on the planet!
