Darlene has been doing my hair for about 6 months and I would not let anyone else do my hair. Her salon has a family setting which I like and I feel comfortable every visit. She provide a professional touch and makes all her customers feel like they are important. She not only cares about the customer but she cares about her product. This is very rare. Most only care about profit! The star treatment I received during my first visit, made me a repeat customer.

Hello I'm the owner of Unique Style and this is in response to CW's review:  I was truly taken aback with your comments pertaining to the service you received on Friday, 14 March 2014. I'm disappointed that you didn't afford me the opportunity to correct what displeased you before you left my shop.  I take pride in my work. I would have made sure everything was to your satisfaction. Based on your actions I was unaware of your dissatisfaction because you left me a  $15 tip and made it a point to tell me you will return. I wish you the very best in finding a stylish who meets your needs.

I guess everyone commenting here is a friend of the owner. I got a weave there and I walked out of there looking like a muppet. It looked messy and fake and I was not happy that I wasted 200 bucks! Darlene didn't braid my hair in a circular motion like most places I've seen. She put some cornrows in my hair and sewed it in quickly and it looked awful. She told me to buy a closure but didn't use it. I put in better weaves on my hair myself. I personally don't recommend this place. The only thing is that the people were nice and friendly but I won't be going back.

Ms. Darlene is an absolute joy!! I recently moved to the Northen VA area and she was the first stylist that I came to..due to her excellent reviews on here! She's very reasonable and I love my sew-in!! I get tons of compliments!! So glad that I found her!

I've been in the northern VA area for 5 years and finally found a stylist I love! There is never a long wait. I hate to be in a salon for 8 hours she get you in and out with style. I always get compliments on my hair.

First of all, I want to thank you for being a great stylist and helping me to look my best over the past few years. Mrs. Darlene is just a sweet and wonderful person. It shows in her work as a stylist. She makes you feel welcomed and such a friendly/warm enivorment. The best salon that I've been to. The owner ensures that her clients are satisfied and takes care to ensure that your hair is healthy. In addition, I never have to wait. I've never stayed in the salon more than 1 hour and 45 min. Fits well with my schedule.

I've been in the northern VA area for 3 years and finally found a stylist I love! My relaxers always come out nice and smooth and my highlights came out perfectly. Darlene is great. She's very thorough, friendly, cares about keeping your hair healthy and affordable on top of all that. I always get compliments on my hair. She never keeps you waiting and will get you in and out in no time.

Where do I start. I've been coming to Darlene for many many years. Her shop and staff are wonderful. She works with me on the styles and is truthful and honest when it comes to care for my hair. My press and curls are wonderful. My weaves are superb! I love this shop and would highly recommend to anyone looking for an honest fair and excellent stylist. I have been to many shops including hair talks and none of them compares to the quality of service I receive

I have been going to Darlene Bell, owner of Unique Styles Hair Salon for 4 years now and it has been a wonderful experience. My hair was shedding and I had gottten a bad cut prior to going to her. Darlene has been my beautician for approximately 2 years following my relocation to the area. I was looking for a salon where I didn't spend most of my day, a beautician who was professional and on time, a salon that was well-maintained , and most of all, affordable. I found all of the above at "Unique Styles". Darlene takes pride in her work and her customers and it shows in her clients. She doesn't overbook clients because she takes a personal interest in each client while they are there. If you're looking for a top-notch salon, Unique Styles is the place!!!!

I've been a customer of Darlene's for ever ten years. I love knowing that I will always be treated with respect in the salon. She keeps in real and lets me know when I've been neglecting my hair and what we can do to fix it. I can get any style that I bring in and it will turn out exactly how I wanted it. I had been looking for someone who Actually Can Do Hair in Virginia, for a long time. I was out shopping and saw a woman who's hair (weave) was so nice I had to ask her where she got it done. She told me that Darlene does her hair and that everytime she goes to someone else, she regrets it. I told her that I really loved her hair and I can't find anyone to do mine the way I like. She was like "Girl let me give you her number and tell her I sent you". About a week later I ran across the number in the bottom of my Coach bag. I remembered the lady at the store and how nice her hair was and that's when I decided to call. I left a voice message because it was about 10pm on a Sunday night. Darlene called me Monday morning and I told her about all that I have gone through and that I am very particular about my hair. She told me to come on in after work and let her take a look at my hair. I started not to go because of my past experiences out here plus I was tired, but I took a chance and went. Her little shop was cute and clean!! There was soft music playing but I don't remember if it was gospel or jazz because between the music and those comfy shampoo chairs I was totally relaxed. Darlene actually talked to me about my hair and not at me, if you know what I mean. Before doing anything, she explained everything she thought we should do and exactly how much it was going to cost. I was finally able to have a say-so when it came to MY hair. I left that shop totally satisfied with my style. I now know why that lady knew Darlene's phone number by heart. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone! -- Finally Satisfied

Called Unique and Spoke to Renee ..told her what I needed to have done, Gave me a sameday appt. The atmosphere was so comfortable and the staff is so Professional...I have found me a home. They can do all things that you request.

Unique Styles is a wonderful hair salon. The owner, Darlene Bell, has been styling my hair for over 7 years. I have not been to anyone else since I met her. She's really into hair maintenance and hair care and takes pride in the work she provides. I have been very pleased! Uniques Styles always has a pleasant atmosphere. The stylists are very professional and don't have time for drama. I highly recommend this salon to all in need of a good hair salon!

I can not say enough about this place! I went there and had my hair done by Darlene who happens to be the owner! I got a shampoo, condition, color and basically a full weave at a very reasonable price. I was impressed with the service I received, the pleasant music that was not to loud and the conversations between the stylists and the other customers was positive too. All and all it was a very nice experience but most of all, my hair was looking fierce! I received so many compliments on my hair that I had to call and say thank you agian to Ms. Darlene. I will be back again in 3 weeks and this time I'm bringing my sister to get her hair done too!!
