Overall

I called them about our gate opener not working. The technician came that afternoon, accessed the gate and told us he would get us an estimate. He left without collecting a service call fee, or mentioning any charges. The next day, I called the office and they said they would have to talk to the technician and get back with us. Next day, I called and received the same story. Day three, same. Waited three more days, called again and had a 6 minute conversation about her not understanding and needing to call to get verification before getting us a quote. After hearing NOTHING, we called another company. One month later they call to collect on $150.00 invoice for service call. Needless to say, will not recommend. Thumbs down

Karen S. we would like to apologize for the lack on communication on our part regarding the service call charge. We do now allow our technicians or field crews to take payments as all billing is done through our office. I would also like to apologize for it taking so long to get an estimate, unfortunately we were short staffed during that point in time. To our knowledge this issue was resolved upon issuing a 50% credit for the service charge which you agreed to pay. Again we apologize for the confusion and lack of communication on our end. We are currently working on ways to make this better for future customers.

Overall

Order mid July 2014, finally got install 3 months later. I was away the day they installed, got home and although the gate was what I ordered the entry over was not. they agreed to reduce the amount to cover their error. 2 weeks later the gate stopped working and the Ranch sign fell down. Was told they would be out within a week, 3 weeks later they came out. gate worked for a couple of weeks again stopped. they had put the solar panel in the wrong place so it wasn't getting recharged. was told they would be out within the week, a month later they came out, finally the gate started working once the sun came back out, February 2015. Meanwhile the sign fell down yet again. I called That was 6 weeks ago. got a call from them a month later, they asked if I still needed it done, I replied Yes. was told they would be out within the week. Two weeks later I called and asked if they were ever going to come hang my sign, was told Thursday, that was yesterday, Still no show..... I would NOT recommend this company !!!

I am the owner of a wood fence building company and used Hood Iron works repeatedly on ornamental gates and the likes. They are very professional and take pride in their work. They custom build their product and expect the highest quality. They do not use the light weight prefabricated crap that is being installed all over the place. Their commitment to quality and fair dealings are the reason I recommend them to anyone needing ornamental fencing.
