This is one of the better Michigan gun ranges. It's clean. I love the actual gun range. Staff are friendly.
The only downside is that when I go to Double Action, there is usually a pretty long wait. The nice thing is they have tables where you can sit and wait and read gun magazines and you don't have to just roam around the store for the whole time.

For being a gun shop, one would think they're educated on ammunition. Unfortunately they don't allow 7.62x39 on their range, their reason being is that they say all "AK" ammo is dangerous due to a steel core. Their magnet test would certainly make a good case to someone who didn't know that it's really only the thin bi-metal jacket that sticks to a magnet, not the lead core absent of any steel. It's a shame that they perceive any and all ak/akm type rifle owners as thugs. Oh yeah... Haha they allow 30-06 though which has almost twice the velocity as the 7.62x39. Just a big disappointment for probably the nicest gun range in Michigan.
I agree with the reviewer complaining about the cigarette stink in the showroom and I'm a smoker. What's ridiculous is that on the ranges, that are well ventilated, you're not allowed to smoke!
I have gotten very good help from the counter staff there. They're pretty knowledgable and take the time to answer questions.
And their ranges and rentals are very nice. One of the pistols I was interested in wasn't offered as a rental but he brought one out of the case for me to try out anyway. Very nice and I bought it.
I don't like the fact that they don't have signage stating they don't allow 7.62x39 firing weapons on their ranges. I only found that out through an online forum. I tried to take my SKS in there and was told they don't allow them. When I asked why the range guy said he didn't know but that the owner just didn't allow them. Then he said they had some problems years ago with people using ammunition that was bad for their range. (Wait a second I thought he didn't know why) I asked if I could bring my Ruger Mini 30 (same ammo) in and he said, "We never had any problems with Mini 30 users", implying I could. Still didn't tell me no 7.62x39 allowed. I found out later about the 7.62 ban so I didn't take my Ruger there.
I did however go there and worked a deal on buying a $1700.00 rifle chambered in 7.62x39. Showed him my credit card and a wallet full of cash for a deposit and had the paperwork ready to sign. Then when he tried to sell me the range deal too I asked him if I could shoot this gun at their range. When he said no I said deal off!
They would sell me a $1700.00 rifle - and a range deal - but I couldn't even shoot it there! They do make it clear that AK47s are not allowed but they don't tell you it's because of the ammo. Easilly the most produced cartridge in the world! So people who want to hunt, target shoot, and defend themselves on the cheap with this round aren't allowed there. I don't like that. But it's their policy and my whining review isn't going to change that. But it does knock their star rating down a bit.

very good price on ammo. staff very helpfull on reloading and it has saved me lots of money.
Absolutely the last place I will ever shoot or buy a weapon. Pathetic, rude staff, at least the old man I was forced to deal with. Spend your money elsewhere if you're looking for a weapon selller with a clue.
My first visit. Horrible customer service from an older bald guy. Slaps the paperwork in front of me and was very pushy. "Sign here, here and here." I ask him, "do I initial here?" He says, "That's the date! You know, as in 4-18-2012!" His tone was so ridiculous I thought he was joking. I was immediately pissed and he could tell. Then tries to have me sign for a range membership. I said I will pass for now, so he aggressively crumples it and throws it in the trash. I would have walked out immediately but I had already purchased online. I give it two stars because some of the other employees were much better as I watched them help customers. I talked with a couple of them and had no issue. Just the one guy.
They have a large selection of firearm at inflated prices. They'll try to sell you worthless ammunition, too. Always crowed and the only help you'll get is from 911.

This is my favorite place to shoot in the area. Some of the guys are all about brand names, but they wouldn't sell you a gun you couldn't depend on.
They usually have good customer service in the shop, and they carry a wider selection (CZ, Ruger, etc.) than other shops in the area who only carry Glock, Sig, and H&K. A family member bought his first pistol there and received great customer service from start to finish.
The ranges are more than adequate. They have a 25-yd pistol range and a 50-yd rifle range. They don't allow AKs at all, unfortunately. I wish they had shotguns for rent, but they have a very good selection of rentals available.
One of the guys who acts as a range safety officer (walks around the range) is a little overzealous. I'm meticulously safe with my firearms and probably know more about firearms than him. He's wrongly accused me of unsafe behaviors twice now. He's also wrongly told my wife to alter her grip b/c of fear of hammer bite when she was in no danger of having that happen and had been shooting comfortably and safely that way for months. She has good form, but this guy feels the need to interject way too much.
I appreciate the emphasis on safety, and one can never have enough of it, but to be wrongly accused of stupid and unsafe behavior when you're probably the most meticulously safe person on the range is irritating. If it weren't for this guy, I'd give DA 5 stars.
I've been shooting a little more at Target Sports more recently, despite the fact that TS is way overpriced for guns and often rude and condescending in the customer service department (in the shop). The range there, however, is fine. They let me shoot and go home w/o harassing me and falsely accusing me of unsafe behaviors.
The place is just like most other gun shops. The help is good. The reviewer who complained of them telling war stories and not asking if he needed help is a moron.....tell them you need assistance!!!!!!!! and they will help you. Do not wait around like a wallflower and wait for them to approach you.
The reason I give it two stars is that they allow smoking there....its a small place....they have zero ventilation in the showroom area. The place literally stinks!!!! You can spend 3 hours in a seedy bar and smell the same as spending 10 minutes in double actions showroom. My jacket smells for days after I visit the place.
If you like to have cigarette smoke cling to your clothes for days, then this is the place for you!

They have always taken the time to help me improve my shooting and knowledge of fire arms and gun Safety. This is the best place to shop for all my shooting needs from guns to reloading equipment, cleaning supplys and custom gun parts. Had lots of fun there for aprox. 20 years Good place to meet new friends. Wanna improve your shooting ? Go there you will see what i mean. Dave Kuhn Peck Michigan
Sorry that my visit did and could not produce a purchase. Poor customer service! Sales people preoccupied telling war stories to notice customers with questions. Prices appear to be good but that's only as good as the service behind the counter. Prefer Target Sports service to Double action!
awesome place to shoot and shop great advice if they dont have something they will try to order it for you great ventilation in shooting range. very helpful staff.
