I am an avis scooterist. I first got heavily interested in scooters after having the pleasure of being in London,U.K. in July of 1978. During that timetheirwas a Mod revival, and Vespas and Lambrettas were EVERYWHERE! I have spent the years since with and without a scoot, and I haven't been truly happy unless I had one. Well, a big problem for me is that i'm not mechanical..AT ALL! So when i first heard of Nulu scooters and their friendly,regular-no-b.s.ing-guy owner Rick,AND the fact that they had THE expert in vintage scooters working for them...i had to visit and see what i thought for myself. Nulu scooters is both a repair shop, as well as seller of new scooters, and essential riding accessories. They are staffed by friendly and knowledgeable staff. They will be honest with you to a fault about your scoooter's needs in regards to repair, and they are very helpful in answering questions;giving advice, etc. when it comes to finding the right bike for you,or helmet, googles, etc. They have the backing and support of many in the scootering community here in town. They aren't just trying to sell chinese-made bikes like some guys at an empty gas station! They are here to get people on scooters, AND keep those scooters, and anyone else on scooters running and safe. They are a pro-scooterist shop! They come highly reccomended by me, a vinage scooterist of over 30 years! Go see for yourself, i promise you, you will be glad you did!
Just bought a Cali Classic scooter from Rick. Went to all the scooter/moped/motorcycle shops in Louisville for several weeks talking to people. Rick took time to tell me about the scooters he sold and where to get more info about them if I wanted it. He knows scooters which is something I can't say about many of the other people I talked to in shops I visited. I ended up with a bike that fits me and my style. In shopping around I spoke with Rick and his dad at Nulu Scooters about bikes. Actually bought a bike his dad had ridden a few times. It had 40 "test" miles on it when I got it. After two weeks of riding, I figure I'll pay for the bike in gas savings in a little over a year. Get a scooter from Rick and crew. I never met anyone at Nulu who didn't know about scooters.
Do not take your scooter anywhere else ! I took my 50 cc supra in a few weeks ago to get repaired. I was very happy with the price , however when I got a mile down bardstown rd , and my scooter wouldn't start again. Thinking I had been ripped off I called the store and explained the problem. Rick , the store manager, then drove to where i was stranded to take a look, Upon further inspection, Rick discovered that the spark plug had come loose An easy fix which only took minutes at no cost, I was amazed at the level of customer appreciation. Not only did Rick go well out of his way , but it was on a Friday after store hours and well over 100 degrees in mid July. NULU scooters Rocks!!
