I absolutely love this place! I can't believe that I've lived in Louisville most of my life without finding it sooner. The Red Barn is a very small antique mall, but it makes up for that with a neat shop and friendly personnel. I was able to look through every booth in the place in less than ten minutes, but I did find something to buy at a very reasonable price. It was a relief to be able to go into an antique mall without feeling as though I was on an all day expedition. The Red Barn has a very nice selection of antiques, but you won't have to waste hours wading through a lot of things that don't interest you. It's just big enough to have a nice variety, yet small enough for ease of shopping and convenience. The staff was extremely helpful to me, and they made me feel quite welcome there. They told me all about their fine shop and invited me to come back soon. I certainly will return there. They advised me that they get new items coming in quite often. I hope to find more of what I'm looking for in the future. I only rated this antique mall with five stars because I wasn't able to rate it higher, but here's six stars - ****** - for the fine people who run the place. They're wonderful!
THIS SHOUT OUT GOES TO JTOWN MALL OF VENDERS! U ALL ARE AWESOME! I CANT EXPRESS ENOUGH TO YOU HOW GREAT A JOB YOU ALL DO ON A DAILY BASIS, EVEN TRYING TO CUT BACK ON THE THEFT THAT SO SADLY OCCURS IN THESE TYPES OF PLACES. I THINK ITS GREAT NOT ALLOWING PEOPLE TO WALK IN THE DOOR WITH BIG BAGS....THEY HAVE CARTS AND I THINK ITS A GREAT IDEA TO NOT LET PEOPLE IN 10MINS TILL CLOSING....NO ONE CAN WALK INTO A PLACE LIKE THAT AND ONLY LOOK FOR 10MINS! UNLESS THEY ARE REGULAR CUSTOMERS AND KNOW WHAT THEY ARE GOING UP THER FOR, WHICH YOU ALL ARE ALWAYS WILLING TO MAKE AN EXCEPTION. WITH WHAT YOU ALL HAVE TO WORK WITH AND THE PEOPLE YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH YOU ARE DOING A FAB JOB. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!
Best mall in the area! The Antique Market at Distillery Commons is located convienently, but I did not know it existed until recently. It's on Payne street between Lexington and Baxter. The staff are friendly and helpful. The layout is open, items are beautifully displayed, and I did not get an allergy attack from an aboundance of antique dust! The Antique Market Distillery Commons is a treasure for those in the market for unique antique furnature, imported smalls, or just an afternoon of brousing. If you have not had the opportunity to check it out, I highly recommend it. They're open everyday but Monday until 5:00.
