My friend and I went to Khalil's on our lunch break for the first time and our experience was not great to say the least. We arrived at approximately 12:30, ordered our meals (grilled chicken sandwich on pretzel bread and cheeseburger on pretzel bread) and appetizer The manager comes out w/ our appetizer, goes to the table behind us and asks if they ordered fried pickles, they said no, he was on his way to the table behind them when we said we ordered them to which he replied, "I knew I was missing a table number." While we waited for our entrees we watched burgers and food go to one table that arrived about 5 minutes after we did and another table that had arrived a good 15 minutes after we did. As we looked around puzzled and a little miffed our waitress said she was getting ready to bring our food out, 10 minutes go by.... no food, the manager comes and says our food is coming right out... 5 minutes go by and finally around 1:20 we get our food. One would think after waiting that long that at least their food would be hot and fresh, but alas, the chicken was barely warm and the burger my friend got was not even warm. We were extremely disappointed. The service was unorganized and the food was way below par. I gave a two star rating because the business has only been open a week and owner came to us and was sincere in his apology for the lack luster service. I would wait a few months to give them time to "work the kinks out" as the manager put it, before visiting this establishment. Jan 25 2013- Went there again for lunch today; food was delicious and the service was great!! I will be frequenting Khalil's more often. Way to pull it together!!!!
I've been to Nalley's more than 10 times, and have been impressed each time. You walk into the main diner, and are greeted by friendly staff who know the regular's names. There are booths for 4 in the front, larger tables in the back. Their menu for breakfast is simple and extremely affordable. I've taken numerous friends there who tell me the denver omlette is the best they've ever had.. and at their prices, this is a real treat. The biscuits and gravy are fantastic and are about 2.35! The lunch is also fabulous. Burgers and fries are recommended. It's well known by people in the area, but that is a shame. More folks should venture to Nalley's downtown and enjoy. It's located 2 doors down from Olley's Trolley at 3rd and Kentucky. You won't regret it. One other thing: it's CASH ONLY. But you'll only need about 10 bucks for 2 to eat breakfast.
Fabulous atmosphere and space. Great bar area at NuLu which is part of Mozz. Interesting concept - kind of hard to navigate the menus - three large menus. Great live music trio. All the food was delicious, well proportioned but expensive. Our waitress was not great, but she didn't ruin the experience. The farm-to-table items were special treats and I'm willing to pay a little more for that. The fresh, warm bread may have been the highlight of the evening! Great cocktail, albeit $10, and very nice wine selection. Mozzarella "bar" and antipasto were very good. Two pizza and two pasta dishes were wonderful but not so unique that I haven't had better. Dessert was slightly above standard. I think unless you have money and time to spend leisurely, I'd skip the meal but make a special trip there for the NuLu bar area and starters.
Friendly staff and tasty food! Mama Shelia is bringing it to Kentucky! I met two of her daughters, Julia and Tia and was rather overwhelmed with the kindness the two had! I saw what appeared to be Shelia who is in her 30's I believe and cooking in the kitchen! I also saw another person back there working hard! I heard she has 3 daughters but I couldn't tell if that was her or not since he/she never looked up. Whoever it was keep it up because the food was fantastic. This is actually wayyyyyyyyy better than Big Mamma's and the surrounding area is calmer. I actually went into Big Mamma's the other day and the staff was just plain ghetto. Instead of Big Mamma's you should definitely come here!
In Lousville from Northern Virginia for The Derby City Classic. Dined at Jack Fry's last night. Very rarely do I experience perfection from start to finish. Negroni on the drink menu perfectly made balance of gin Comparie and vermouth. Bread was amazing and signature entre beef filet deliciously full of flavor obviously prepared with care and pride. Paired with Bordeaux a wonderful dinner. I enjoyed bourbon brownie house made ice cream and superb Americana coffee for desert. I dined at the bar. The bar tender/server was professional and personable unlike the experience I am now not enjoying at Veranese. Veranese is as much a disappointment as Jack Fry's was pleasure.
I had the distinct displeasure of encountering Jonathan. I don't know how he got hired at one of Louisville's premier dining locations. He was rude, spoke in a condescending tone, meddling, never smiled, and never so much as offered me a drink of water! He made me feel as unwelcome as a rodent and served no real purpose. He would fail customer service 101 at Chik-fil-a! Abigail and Jeremiah, on the other hand, really exemplified team spirit and anticipated my every need. If I return to Vincenzo's or recommend my friends to visit there, it would be for the food and service with a smile provided by Abigail and Jeremiah.
I enjoyed everything at this restaurant. The atmosphere was wonderul, the staff was friendly, the food was amazing and their prices were great. We had the pork tenderloin and it had some kind of honey lime sauce on it and it was very good and we had a fish that had a lobster cream sauce and it was also very good. My service was really good and all the staff seemed to enjoy their job and they were extremly friendly. I will be a frequent customer there for sure. Our meals were under 10 bucks but you would have never known if you judged by the taste!!!!!
This place rocks! Great atmosphere for all to enjoy even children. They have karaoke twice a week ( Saturdays are the best!) but make sure to get there early to get a table in the front room. Plenty of seating out front and back and two other areas inside to sit. I had my 30th bday party there and it was a blast! My food favorites are the to die for fish sandwich, chili, roastbeef, mashed potatoes, and home style green beans. You really can't beat the price for the quality and portion size of the food. I highly recommend stopping in and giving it a try!!!
My family and I went for tha firs time in the new location the food was excellent the service much much better than the old location but the best of all the have a lot of tv s and all the games football basketball direct tv and also buzz time trivia and Texas hold them and even a pool table for the families to play a gulf game so I think this is more than a Mexican restaurant is a sport bar Mexican restauran a great new thing for Louisville area plus they have great deals 2 fajitas and a cheese dip for only $20.00 bucks.
I love the way AppleBee's has create a menu to fit the budget of every family's pocket in these hard economic times. You can treat your love ones to a fine evening out and still be able to eat all the things you did before. My grandkids really enjoy going to Apple Bee's. Plus the service is always great! And that makes me feel good. Thanks for showing your appreciation and outstanding support in helping families enjoy each other. Pocahontas Biggers
