Shacklette Elementary School serves more than 600 students in pre-kindergarten through grade five. The elementary school has a library that provides accessible reading materials for a range of interests at various levels. I have had several children attend Shacklette Elementary. It use to be a good school. Since 2003 I have seen great teachers, many that have been there for years, flee the school and the current principal in a mass exit. \r I am at the school for all activities and have witnessed very upsetting things. I have seen teachers insulted and humiliated in front of parents and students by the principal. \r The recent Christmas program was a disaster. Students were told they would perform. They and their teachers practiced hard for thier moment in the spotlight. On the day they were to perform for parents and the school, the principal refused to let them perform. These students were crushed and will never be able to make up this missed opportunity. \r \r The teachers at Shacklette are great and work hard to have my children do well in school. I commend them for their hard work in a school that is ran so poorly by the current leadership.
