EXCELLENT STAFF & EXPERIENCE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Long story short I took my cat here after terrible experiences at 2 other vets. (1 did nothing except pump her full of very strong potentially dangerous antibiotic that she did NOT need; the other diagnosed her w/ enlarged heart, wanted to charge absorbent fees for BASIC blood work & then put her on 2 daily meds because he acted as if she could die any moment even though she has NO symptoms of active CHF). DHC got me in immediately next morning. Dr. Turns did THOROUGH exam, explained everything in detail (including the fact that x-rays from prev. vet were basically useless concerning her heart) & quoted pricing beforehand. Did detailed blood work & urinalysis. Found heart murmur & that she's a little over-weight (possibly stress related due to recent food allergy that's already been addressed) but ALL other tests were normal (INCLUDING heart enzymes) & advised me she needs reg. check-ups & if future tests are abnormal THEN we would go from there. She potentially can live a long normal life! Fair pricing on all testing. They even adjusted bill no questions asked after Dr. accidentally quoted me incorrect price for tapeworm meds. I spent hrs. researching online beforehand & they did EXACTLY what was needed (no more, no less). Thank you DHC for being professional, caring & knowledgeable!

I've read bad reviews here and there about MVS and quite honestly, don't understand it. I have had nothing but good experiences with MVS with two different animals about 3-4 years apart with two different vets there. It's a beautiful facility with top notch vets and staff. I truly believe that I would not have my dog Zoe alive today if it were not for the skills of Dr. Neat and Dr. Campbell. She had a colorectal tumor removed 18 months ago at age 10 1/2. She is now 12 and acts and looks great. She even initiates play with her 5 year old 'sister.' Everything was explained to me clearly by both Drs. Neat and Campbell. I never felt any impatience from anyone there if I called up to ask a question or think that something might be wrong. My calls were always returned. I know that you can run up a bill, but hey, they are specialists. It's the same for us two-legged humans. You can always buy pet insurance (in advance, of course). I'm so glad that they have been able to expand the number of doctors they have there compared to just a few years ago. It's a GREAT service to have this in the Louisville area and our pets deserve the best.
A great clinic. Very gentle with the clients. The fees are about what you would pay elsewhere, and Dr. Grimes clipped my dog's nails in about 20 seconds, no mistakes, no fear on my dog's part. They board small dogs if you are a client. The charge is 12 per day. However, they do not have dog runs, so they stay in cages except for going out three times a day. Dr. Grimes told me he would not let a dog stay for over 7 days because they do not have a way to exercise them. I boarded my dog there twice for a few days and he was well treated. I can't say enough good things about Grimes and Wood Animal Clinic! Easy to find. at the Poplar Level Rd exit off the Watterson, make a left, and a minute down on the left is a blue roofed building with a big sign that says "ANIMAL CLINIC" Nothing fancy, they do not groom-and I wish they did because they would not hire a rough groomer-but the medical care is wonderful and the wait time is short.
