I had been taking Pilates at Archer for about a year when I got in a car accident and injured my back. After my surgery, my doctor recommended physical therapy. Julie, my instructor, took the time to introduce me to Archer's physical therapist and worked with me to adjust my exercise to accommodate my limited abilities as I recovered. It was wonderful to get such personalized attention and coordinated care. I really believe my recovery went much more smoothly because Julie took a personal interest in me.
I'm a rower for my college crew team and I started Pilates in the off-season to help me strengthen my core. It's been fantastic. The classes at Archer are strenuous and perfectly designed to work the muscles I need most to perform well for my team. It's a great way to switch up my training regimen. Pilates is a great form of exercise for serious athletes and the instructors at Archer are really knowledgeable about exercise physiology.
