The Trails Cafe

Every time we visit Fern Dell we stop at Trails for a sprout and avocado sandwich and a lavender shortbread cookie! So delicious! Cute picnic benches, hay bales and wood stumps are around to sit on. It's a very magical place.

This is such a fun little outdoorsy spot to eat at while communing with nature in Griffith Park. They have great breakfast foods (egg in a basket) and baked goods (including scones and cookies). My kids love their dough-wrapped hot dogs, dubbed "snake dogs." You order at the counter, then take your food to the picnic tables on the patio. It's a nice shady spot to catch up with friends and let the kids run. The only drawback is the slow service. You can sometimes wait in line for 30 minutes before even placing your order. I wish they had more employees hustling to get the food out.
