    Great neighborhood find!

I don't know who helped you citygirl_la but I've always been treated quickly and very well by everyone, every time I go in. I've found the staff to be extremely knowledgable and helpful without any attitude. I like getting to try whatever cheeses I want or they recommend until I find what I'm looking for. Sometimes it's crazy busy on the weekends, but with a little patience and a taste of the wine they're pouring it's never a problem. I also love that the store's atmosphere feels a little rustic and European.

    Unnecessarily SNOBBY!!

Twice I've been in and treated lowly. Shame on them!!\r They're a speciality shop for cheese; there is no need for attitude!!

    Silver Lake, not Montana Avenue

    Provided by

Harry Shearer characterized KCRW as ""yuppie sausage"", and the previous respondent demonstrates why. No prices on the cheese? Deep breath, step forward, and ask. Most is line-priced, which is to say, the same price. Wine selection poor and pricey? Well, it's assuredly a Two-Buck-Chuck-free zone, not to mention absent sugary Chardonnay and muddy Merlot, but where outside the Wine House in KCRW country are you going to find exceptional Rioja for $7, Chinon for $10, Aligote for $13, et al? The boys behind the counter didn't hold your hand, didn't commend you on your lifestyle choices? Then think of it as training for your debut trip to Europe.

    DISAPPOINTED

    Provided by

I had found the store through the KCRW listing. Before getting in, I thought that was going to be a great find. Inside: no price indicated on the cheese, poor wine selection & pricey. The way the cheeses are wrapped is impeccable though (staff seems to have a lot of time on their hands). Not much to say about the 2 gentlemen that are taking care of the store; they don't speak much. Don't expect a warm welcome & a staff promoting their products. I gave my card for a discount, but did not get a receipt w/ the breakdown of my purchases. Also, noticed, afterwards, that the total, after discount, was rounded to the store's favor. Definitely not the ambiance of the cheese store in BH (which offers also a discount for KCRW members).
