Ever since I discovered the existence of bun bo hue (spicy and sour noodle soup!), I was in search of Pho place that serves the dish. I was reading reviews and everyone said this place has a good bun bo hue. It was not the best bun bo hue but I did like it. I also tried regular pho and that was just okay.

This place only takes cash!

Authentic Pho!

I'm a pho lover, and this place deserves a review. Its seriously a hole in the wall. In the edge of Chinatown very easy to miss. One of my Vietnamese co-workers took me there for lunch, cuz i'm a pho lover. At first I was doubtful. The place looked dingy! I didnt want to offend, so proceeded to order. The food came quick...it looked clean. So I took a bite...I was in pho heaven! Authentic to the bone and cheaper than most places! If you're a true pho lover try this place! Its worth sacrificing the ambiance!

Number 1 Pho spot in LA without a doubt!!

I am a pho fanatic! Therefore I am very picky about my pho! Pho 87 is by far THE BEST PHO is LA hands down!! The flavor is right on the money, the portions are good, the put more meat in their pho than any other pho spot I have tried. They also give you a whole plate of leaves and bean sprouts all to yourself. The service is light speed fast, they only take like no more then 2 minutes to bring you your food (i'm serious). I love this place so much I go there about 4 times a week and if i try another pho spot it is never the same and i regret not going to Pho 87. The price is also good compared to other places, about .50 to 1.50 cheaper, So yea, Pho 87 is the best pho in LA!! Totally recommend this place :) Also, everything else on the menu is seriously good, I am shocked whenever I try something new it's so good I cannot believe how I never ate it before! Their spring rolls are the best in town too!

awesome staff, great food, no wait

Pho 87 is my favorite pho place in LA. It's probably the most authentic Vietnamese food you can get in Chinatown LA. And their portions are pretty big for the price. The staff is also very nice and seem to remember their customers. The only minor complaint would be that they don't give enough meat on their vermicelli dishes...

Best pho and spring rolls in California

I've had my share of pho and Vietnamese food since I was born. The only place that competes with this place is my mom and dad's home kitchen. I've eaten at many Vietnamese restaurants in Southern California... this is the best Pho restaurant. The beef noodle soups are best. Spring rolls and egg rolls with lettuce are great if you don't feel like soup. And the rice plates are good.

so, i've had pho from San Francisco to San Diego to Little Saigon, to SF and SG Valley, from Boston to Washington, DC, and i have to say this place pho-reaking ROCKS!!! Pho 87 has to be top 3 in the country for its broth, noodle, and the flavor of their non-noodle dishes. The broth is savory, not too greasy, and the service is prompt... the place is always crowded - a sure sign of its quality.
