Horrible - MSG infused - tasteless

This is probably one of the worst pho chains I've visited. The soup is cloudy and the sweetness of the soup is not from the stewing of the beef/beef bones/beef tail/etc. in the broth....but from MSG and sodium!! I probably would not visit any of the Pho 2000 branches unless I'm dying for pho...literally.

What the Pho?

I've had worse but there is much better. The main reason to go here is the oxtail pho. Aside from that, the bean sprouts and mint leaves they give do not look very fresh.

Best Pho

I have been here a couple of times now and it's one of the best pho I have had.....better than Pho 79.

Very average pho

This is a pho joint in the heart of Koreatown. Pho 2000 is run by Koreans and thus the pho there does not taste very authentic at all. It is average and like the other reviewer said it tastes like chicken broth. It's a very clear yellow soup which isn't consistent with most pho places which serve up a rich, beefy brown broth. The noodles in the broth I have to say were pretty good though. They didn't get too mushy while eating and they did not soak up all the soup. Also had the spring rolls which were average. Nothing to write home about or recommend. They also provided a good size serving of humyum (onion). Overall average food, clean restaurant, and limited choices (they don't have the typical 122 items found on the menu of a typical pho place). On the bright side, I believe they are also open 24 hours.

pretty good pho!

While not our absolute favorite pho place, Pho 2000 generally delivers. Like the best noodle shops, don't go expecting ambiance. The food here is what is important, and it is usually very good and reasonably priced. They offer a flavorful broth with good quality meats. Our only quibble is that sometimes their accompanying basil, onions, jalapenos, and bean sprouts look like they've been sitting around too long on the plate, and can be a bit wilted. And although we can't really say that they don't offer enough of these side items, they definitely are more stingy than our favorite place, especially with the basil.

I've been to Pho 2000 several times and thought the food to be very good. Contrary to the earlier post, I though their broth was excellent. I'm local to Little Saigon and have tried many different Pho places. Pho 2000's soup is always hot and their portions very reasonable. They also have a location on Wilshire/Western and for the couple of times I've been there, they're usually pretty busy. The interior could use a bit of updating, but the service is always fast and good.

Not so Pho'bolous

One of the key components to a good bowl of pho is the broth, and I make sure not to add anything till I taste it first. My first time at pho 2000 will probably be my last. The broth was like a bad chicken broth, ""minus"" the beef/chicken, star anise, ginger, onion, cinnamon, etc. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a traditional Vietnamese recipe or if its been modified to suit Korean tastes, but the only thing I liked was that it was open late!
