I mean come on people!!! My husband and I frequent this place because we live close and to be quite honest, the sushi is decent and most of the time they mess up the bill and forget to charge us for a roll or two. Works out quite well! Meanwhile, the only thing that this place is consistent with is HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Seriously, EVERY SINGLE TIME we go there, they mess something up. It's almost funny to us now, cause we wait for it to happen. We actually take bets now on what exactly they will mess up on each time. No water, no soy sauce dishes, no utensils, wrong order, etc. The last time we went, we had to ask about 5 times for the apps that we ordered... finally after we were completely done with the meal and we asked again...they said that the order was never placed. ""well, do you still want them"" was the reply we got. This was where I drew the line and finally asked to speak to a manager. I told him about our many, repeated, bad experiences there and he acted surprised. I laughed at him and asked if he was serious.. like no one else had ever complained, I said. He apologized and took 1 roll off the bill. The only time our bill was correct, but hey, still got one free... whether it was legit or not! Eh', it's still fun to see the balla's smoking cigars next door though!

Tried the Kabuki in Huntington Beach and was given the same lousy service as the previous reviewer. What he/she described about the waiters were so true and yet the waiters have this ""I'm so cool, I don't care!"" attitude. The one and only shrimp in my bento box meal had a tentacle sticking out of its breading...must be a freak shrimp! Seriously, I just think management doesn't care....what a waste of time. Recommended if you want sloppy service and mediocre food and simply want to be ignored....this is the place for you.

The service was horrific; they don't get your order correct; you never want to eat there on a Sunday or Monday, unless you don't care if the fish isn't fresh; your waiter will disappear and resurface only AFTER you've asked for your check so you can get the hell out. And Management...so long as you don't ask for a discount...they could care less. NEVER AGAIN!

I went here with some friends and we had a great time and yummy food. The staff was very nice and i love their menu. I also like how you can sit outside. The sushi is not the best in the world but it is good and i would go back for sure.

...Ok, this USED to be my absolute FAVORITE sushi joint...with an entire half of their menu offered at half price, and a casual semi-relaxed atmosphere, it was the ultimate dinner & a movie date starter since it was located in a shopping complex with a moviehouse. it survived 3 girlfriends.\r <br>\r <br>But that was THEN! \r <br>\r <br>I went last week for what will most likely be my last time. After their 1/2 off menu quietly vanished, I found myself walking out with 70$ spent for mediocre and increasingly worsening quality, TERRIBLE service..just forgetting stuff or not bringing necessary things - e.g. soy sauce, my edimame, the right order, water, etc....i would usually find myself just going to the waiter station and doing it myself. \r <br>\r <br>The last trip was the kicker...a 60$ tab, and just not much to eat really...the orders had changed, smaller, poorly assembled, and the sashimi was horrific (i had them take it off the bill).\r <br>Bear in mind people...there are plenty of places that offer all-you-can-eat for 20 or 30$ a head...\r <br>\r <br>I'm really sad, like i lost an old friend....but I really will not be going back there...since i can now choose a sushi die at random and get better results...price-wise, quality-wise, and definitely service-wise.\r <br>the managers are usually quite decent and agreeable at least.

This is the worst sushi restaurant ever!!!\r <br>Kabuki chain's sushi and service have gone from bad to worse!!!\r <br>\r <br>The services from the waiters and host are so incompentent!!\r <br>They are so quick in getting drinks and food orders, but so slow in delivering those orders!!!\r <br>They don't ask how was the food, all they came back for are for the damn check!!!\r <br>Maybe, there is the way the corporate office are training them for a quick turn-over in tables!!!\r <br>\r <br>The sushi were poorly cut, unfresh smell, untasty texture, cheap quanlity and horrible!!\r <br>All the chefs are unfriendly, maybe that's why they don't really know sushi???\r <br>\r <br>Kabuki failed to deliver what a good sushi restaurant is....

My wife and I walked over to our local Kabuki Restaurant for some sushi. My first clue that something was not quite right was the fact that there were no people outside waiting to be seated. This restaurant is located in a shopping mall with a movie theater and we always had to wait 15-30 minutes to be seated. We haven't been here in about 10-12 months and the whole restaurant changed. Gone were the 50% off on the sushi prices. Gone were the female waitresses, as the only females you will see are the hostesses. \r <br>\r <br>The service has declined, with plates piling up on the counter in front of us, the beer being served at room temperature, and the prices going up with no ""specials"" being advertised on the board behind the sushi bar. The whole interior was remodeled and they went from paper napkins to cloth napkins. In other words, the management turned the place into a hoidy-toidy place and gave up on the lower cost ambience which we loved.\r <br>\r <br>Looks like we will be going back to our local neighborhood sushi restaurant in Westwood. The drive will be worth it.

I go here regularly with my boyfriend. I have to say they have the best beef terriyaki in all of LA. If you ask for medium rare, they get medium rare, and they get it perfectly.\r <br>The sushi is also wonderful, especially the salmon and yellowtail.\r <br>The place is usually busy and requires a 15-25 minute wait, but they give you a pager so that you may wander around the shopping area until you get called for your seat. Staff is very friendly. I once saw someone buying rounds of sake for the entire sushi bar, and the noises coming from the employees getting slowly buzzed was hilarious.

after reading the reviews on here, i was expecting really good sushi. the sushi was not very good because i dont think it was very fresh. we order chicken and steak entrees and they were okay expect we found some hair in it. the manager took it off our bill and that was it.
