Made reservation on 9/26 at 8:45PM, the place was stilled crowded, but no wait. The restaurant have comfortable seating, great ambiance with romantic lighting. The wait staffs were excellent. My beer glass was never empty. The waitress refills my glass without me noticing.\r \r We?ve ordered two appetizers, the texture of the new tuna tataki ($13.95) was dry and hard; skip it. However, the fried soft shell crab ($12.95) was absolutely a delight. For entree, we?ve ordered the 8-piece omakase course (it also comes with clam miso soup, fried calamari, and grilled peppers) for $35. It was worth it. Included in the 8-piece sushi course were premium yellow tail, premium salmon, toro, uni, red snapper, ama ebi, scallops, and baby scallops. All were delicious. Our favorite was the premium yellow tail, our first. The fried calamari and the grilled peppers, which came with the omakase course, were non-event. The calamari was very hard to chew; it was like chewing cardboard, while the peppers were spicy. I wish substitution could be made. I will inquire next time.\r \r The draft Kirin 60 oz pitcher at $12.50 was a great deal.\r \r Major drawback is the smokiness of the restaurant. It seems that the kitchen lacks proper ventilation. After getting out of the restaurant, our cloths and hair stinks (similar experience going to a Korean BBQ). \r \r I would rate this restaurant a 5, but the kitchen smoke really hampered our dining experience, not to mention the need to wash our hair right away.

I am very critical when it comes to sushi. I have tried the best as well as the worst. Sushi restaurants have become so common now that they all seem to be the same to me. It's quite difficult to please me in regards to eating out since I am so paranoid when it comes to cleanliness and preparation of food, especially something raw. I am also such a sushi fiend and En sushi most certainly amazed me. Their service was right on and their sushi was so fresh and yummy. It practically melts in your mouth. Wonderful atmosphere, and more importantly they are very clean. You can feel the cleanliness immediately upon entering the restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant, trust me, you'll like it.

For appetizers, we ordered edamame and tatsuki age (fried sesame chicken).\r For dinner, we had sea bass teriyaki, the ""tuna fever"" roll and shrimp sushi.\r Our drinks were hot tea. EN has a delightful selection of sake available as well.\r Dinner was delicious and well prepared. The sushi roll was very high quality; each taste was distinct, and the asparagus was fresh and crisp. The sea bass teriyaki was very light and flavorful, and it came with potatoes that must have been baked and then ""waved over"" the deep fryer-- they were incredible! Even the steamed rice was delicious.\r \r We eat out a lot, and we are very picky. This is one of the best restaurants we have encountered. Along with the delicious food, the staff are very friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. As mentioned by someone else, the tea was refilled quickly.\r \r If you have a date, want to celebrate something special, or just want a great meal, this is the place to go. There's a good chance you will see us there, because we are planning on going again! :)

Wow...we just celebrated my husband's birthday at En Sushi and all came away with smiles and happy full bellys. The service is accomodating and pleasant. My hot tea never got to the bottom of the cup without being filled. The sushi was wonderful...MUST TRY THE RED DRAGON!!!! Yummy and the Crunchy spicy tuna roll. The toro was like butter....we will return again and again.

We tried En Sushi after seeing it on AA Dining. What a find! This sushi restaurant has it all! Upon walking in, I knew it would be a good experience. The ambiance is very modern and appealing to the eyes...very clean as well. The service is impeccible. Meals are brought out in the correct order and you are given appropriate time to finish one course before the next is brought out (a rare find unless you are paying at least $100 per person). The food is amazing. Albacore jalapeno roll and tuna tataki sashimi are among favorites. The prices are very reasonable as well. This is our new favorite neighborhood weekly (at least) sushi establishment!

i ate at en sushi for the first time last night, and from the moment we were seated (the minute we walked in the door) to the time we left my friend and i had a great time. the servers were extremely prompt and attentive, the restaurant was clean and modern with a slight new york feel, and the sushi was extremely fresh and overall fantastic. i would recommend this place to anyone who is a sushi fan. the setting is appropriate for groups of friends, couples, and even families. there are several booths that line up against that window that are extremely large and comfortable. there was nothing that i didn't like about this place. there are two different sections of the restaurant...a cocktail area near the bar and the general seating area. the tables are spaced far enough away from one another to create a sense of intimacy as opposed to some restaurants where you can hear , word for word, your neighbor's conversation

I went to en sushi on hillhurst yesterday with my girlfriend. I didn't know that it was changed name and ownership(it was shin japanese restauraut before). We tried to eat dinner first time because new restaurant looked so nice interior. We ordered one of cold sake and several sushi. it was excellent! sushi is not only fresh but sake, appitizer and dessert was excellent too. They said that en sushi has another locatin in west l.a. and just open in los feliz two month ago. I strongly recommend this restaurant. they are pretty doing well and price is not expensive than hollywood area even they have better guality food and service than any sushi restaurant in Hollywood.

I had been looking for a good Los Feliz sushi bar for a while and now I have one. This is the perfect place to sit at the bar and ask the chef what is fresh today. Don't miss the oyster shooters, salmon sashimi, or the albacore tataki. It's only been open a month and it's always busy. The late night happy hour on Thursdays is a dream with $9 pitchers and $3.50 rolls and appetizers. Enjoy!!!!
