You know the moment you're in a place with (only) cops and construction workers that you've landed somewhere good. Wait in the line and get the #7. Do it. You're ordering roast beef that's been soaking in au jois, piled atop corned beef that's been soaking in marinara, covered in green peppers and provolone cheese. Before you get to a table, add parmesan, pepperoncinis and red pepper flakes and allot time for a two-hour nap.

This is an L.A. institution. Other sandwich shops may get more notoriety but the L.A. folks that work nearby understand the awesomeness of the Eastside Market and Deli.
It used to be more of a full service market but their main focus is the sandwich deli. And if you like a good Italian sandwich, this is the place to go. The hardcore food fanatics should go all in and order the D.A. Special. - a sandwich with the 4 basic food groups: hot roast beef, pastrami, meatball, and italian sausage. All that topped with some cheese, peppers, and tomato sauce and you got yourself a meal that'll last you the whole day.

Food is awesome, especially the hot sandwiches. Try the combo special if you are up to it...meatball, pastrami, roast beef and Italian sausage. Oh, I can taste it just writing about it, trust me, get lots of napkins and don't plan on eating again for a while.
