If there were a Rating less than 1 Star that's what I would give this place. THE BARTENDERS ARE EXTREMELY RUDE!!!! I was waiting for 15-20 minutes to be served. They just stare at you and then go to another person as if to taunt you. When I closed out my tab I realized why they were so rude. THEY ADD ON THE TIP THEMSELVES!!!!! My bill came out to $52.00 after taxes and THE BARTENDER GAVE HIMSELF A $9.00 TIP. That's like a 20% tip!!! The tip is where I as a customer get to say ""Hey thanks for the great service"" or ""The service was lousy."" The bartender completely took my right as a customer away and decided to tip himself. IS THIS THE COMPANY POLICY TO ALLOW THE BARTENDER TO DETERMINE THEIR OWN VALUE OF THE SERVICE THEY PROVIDED? DON'T EVER GO TO THIS BAR UNLESS YOU WANT BAD SERVICE AND WANT TO BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I recently went to Broadway Bar for my friends birthday. Good atmosphere, good music, a bit crowded, limited seating. The bartenders we encountered were SO RUDE!! One bartender was spilling our drinks (on purpose) even another customer said ""What is she doin?"". We decided to go upstairs to another bar, and the bartender at that one actually said ""Who the F*** are you?"" to my friend, she was taking pictures by the bar and he said ""The flash is blinding me, get the F*** out of here"" she even tried to apologize and he just gave her dirty looks. I have never experienced such disrespectful service!! Over all it was a good night except for the service from these two bartenders.

Went to Broadway Bar last weekend with some girl friends. One of the girls had just recently turned 21 and wanted to check out the Downtown LA bar scene so we went to hit up a bunch in one night. Broadway was our first stop. We got there maybe around 11:30 and the place was packed. It was nice because it was two stories with a patio area. Though the patio is more or less all smokers. The place itself was great. I like the decor and the feel of the bar, the couches and sitting areas were all very well done. I wish there were more couches though. And the music is good. The downside of this place is the people. I know downtown isn't exactly the most attractive crowd in the LA area but there is often cute hipsters or people who work in the nearby offices that are attractive. On a scale of 1-10, the people here were like a 3. At best. We left relatively soon because we didn't feel like getting hit on by old men (crowd was a little older as well, all like mid 30s) and the unattractiveness definitely outweighed the opportunity for free drinks.

Been out several Wednesday nights to hear top DJs -- Al Jackon, Jedi, A-Ski, MixMasterMassey -- spinning jazz in all its form. They're joined by jazz musicians like Dave Bass and Josh Koslow, poets and MCs. It's an eclectic night, an eclectic crowd -- but cool. $4 beer and well drinks. It's an intimate night of amazing music... never seen anything like it. Go!

My friends and I hit this spot after the Kings game last night and had a blast. The bartenders were great and drinks were cheap. $3 STELLA DRAFTS!\r \r When we got there, the bar was pretty empty and we almost went somewhere else to find a better scene, but the bartenders assured us that THursday nights always get busy but not until late. The upper level wasn't open, and we were thinking maybe they were lying just to keep some customers there on a slow nite. But I was so glad we didn't go somewhere else! There was hardly anyone there at 11, but by midnight, it was crankin! - lots of cool people and cool music - and $3 STELLA! \r \r The bartenders were faaast and cool and made strong drinks. You don't get that crappy put upon Hollywood bartender attitude in this place. The bartenders are more like party hosts than just regular bartenders. They joked a lot with eachother andtreated us as good as the regular customers that they knew by name.\r \r The redheaded bartender told us about their weekend DJs and their new happy hour (ALL beers are $3 during happy hour!), and shared some tips for when it gets busy. If you order doubles here, you get a full double pour in a big pint glass and pay a buck less than if you get 2 single drinks, which she said is a good idea if you're there on the weekends and end up waiting too long for a drink. The other bartender with the crazy curly hair was really fun and joked with us, and made my friend a killer strong island! They make sure you have a good time and get your drink on!\r \r The music was awesome - a mix of reggea and pop and milder hiphop, and the pretty asian DJ girl came around and took a bunch of pictures of us and gave us a card to find the pics on her website. That was really cool, cos we had friends visiting from Vancouver with us and now we have some great pics of our night out in downtown L.A.\r \r I will def. grab some friends and hit this spot on the weekends to check out the upstairs level and see what Marcos meant when he looked at the busy crowd and said, ""Busy? You should see the weekends. This is nothing!""

Weekends can be crowded, but weeknights are perfect for chilling with friends. The music varies but is always good. Cool atmosphere, strong drinks, and great bartenders. Tony Rocks!

Downtown LA is definitely up and coming and in my opinion, The Broadway Bar is the best of the night life bars that have sprouted up within the past couple of years. If your looking for great ambience and atmosphere, this is the spot. Good for a date night or to go out with your group of friends. Reasonable prices, diverse clientele and good bartenders. I went to a show next door at the Orpheum theatre and was pleasantly suprised to find this cool bar welcoming my friends and I. apparently they have dj's on the weekends which is a bonus plus a great upstairs lounge/bar and a balcony overlooking Broadway. Definitely a fun experience. \r

We went to Siggraph at the downtown convention center and decided to do some bar hopping. We started at CiUDAD and then went over to the Library Bar and then looked at Casey's and couldn't get into Seven Grand because we had shorts on, the Golden Gopher didn't open until 8:00 so we had the unfortunate experience of going to the Broadway Bar. Tony was our disappointing bartender who overcharged us even when I asked him when Happy Hour was. Happy Hour is from 5-8 which his co-worker informed us, any of the drinks were a dollar off. It was before 8 p.m. and we were charged $8 for a super low quality, small margarita with Montezuma tequila, $6 for a Guiness and $5 for a Blue Moon. The bar had no air conditioning. Tony was an absolute zero and really ruined my buzz. Marcos gave us some not so good, small, chilled tequila shot to compensate us and it sucked. This is a horrible neighborhood, super scummy and the worst first impression to have of a bar. This Tony character told me he was an owner when I asked him, but surely he must have been lying. I would recommend going to the Library Bar because they are honest about their prices, it's nice, in a better area with much better quality beers and a nice staff and way busier!!! After, we stopped in to check out the Golden Gopher and the bartender was really nice but the tap beer selection sucked. Go anywhere but the Broadway Bar, you've been warned!

LOVED THE ATMOSPHERE HERE! IT IS BUSY AND MIGHT HAVE TROUBLE GETTING SITS IF YOURE NOT THERE EARLY. THE PRICES ARE AVERAGE ABOUT 10-15 BUCKS. THE SCENE REMINDS ME OF THE SCENE IN GARDEN STATE WHERE THE WALLPAPER MATCHES THE GUYS SHIRT...LOL YEAH THAT WILL TRIP YOU OUT A BIT. SO, THE BARTENDERS ARE BUSY SO DON'T EXPECT TO GET YOUR DRINKS ASAP, BE PATIENT...RELAX AND JUST CHILL. THE PARKING LOT IS HUGE ABOUT 5 BUCKS BUT THEY HAVE SECURITY AND ITS JUST NEXT DOOR WHICH IS GREAT! THEY REALLY DO CARD YOU AND I HAD A BIT OF TROUBLE GETTING IN WITH MY MILITARY ID BUT THEY LET ME IN, NO BIGGI. IF YOUR A SMOKER THEY HAVE A BALCONY UPSTAIRS.

I guess it's not a coincidence that I happen to love all of 213Ventures' bars. Broadway bar is spacious and has two levels, making it great for groups. The bartenders are great, and they have a good selection of specialty drinks available.
This bar does not disappoint

eclectic crowd...but the best part...no lines and no cover...no pretentious asses making you feel bad about yourself...just fun and good times...will be back for sure

The broadway bar is perfect to meet up with friends, listen to some music in a low pressure type setting. The crowd is diverse and friendly. Racistas would dislike the bar and should avoid it all costs. The crowd is more progressive and colorful. The drinks are reasonably priced and parking is conveniently located next door (free).\r I don't reccommend parking on the street. Wednesdays are good if you like reggae/dub. NO cover and $3 dollar beers all night. \r \r Racistas beware.

I made my first visit last night before a show and loved everything about it but most importantly the service. The bartender was awesome. This is the type of place where you go hang out and have a good time without any drama. Don't go there if you have the ""I-want-to-see"" or ""I-want-to-be-seen"" attitude. No one here cares. Drink and be merry. Period. Will definitely be back. Did I mention the service was awesome? Oh yeah, if you're hungry they will provide you with menus from two local pizza joints that deliver to BB. Great drinks, customer service, atmosphere. It's great!

I've been to this bar twice and the service is always great. The prices are great and the quality of the drinks are even better. Great atmosphere but would be even better if they opened the upstairs. People are also great that they're cool but not trendy. It feels like a sophisticated neighborhood bar where people are just cool, laid back and service is great. Love it!

Cedd and Ricki did a great job at this new downtown venue. The bartenders have been culled from all over and are very friendly. There is a great happy hour and parking is free next door after 7 pm.

I had a lot of fun at this place. It wasn't too crowded, but there were enough people. It was classy, not trendy. A nice layout, a balcony for smoking. The music wasn't too loud so having a conversation wasn't difficult. It's a good place to meet people. It had its own parking spot, but at the time I went it was crowded-- but at least there was enough street parking (at least I could see my car from the balcony if anyone's worried about that area of town). I had a really great time there and I'd go there again.

Cool place with a neat round bar. Upstairs was closed when we went(Saturday night no less) and the place was comfortably occupied when we left at 11PM. The beer selection is weak at best, but they did have Stella Artois on tap although not the glass. The CD jukebox was packed with classics and hipster tunes. Overall another cool downtown bar that will no doubt take off as more people find it.
