I’m a concierge at a residential building here in downtown Los Angeles. We use there pick-up service on a daily basis for are 300 Unit building. There always willing to go out of there way to please there customers. I work with them on day to day basis and I am very satisfied with there attentiveness when ever there’s an issue regarding one of our residents. In this economy, customer service lacks in majority of businesses that are out there but not this one. They make it a point to put customers first and that’s what makes or breaks a business.
Where do I begin? This company not only has extremely poor dry cleaning abilities, but they are completely incapable of acknowledging their shortcomings. Many of my clothes came back with the same stains, some even came back with new ones. However, when brought to their attention, they denied having anything to do with it and even went so far as to say it was something I must have done. I took their word for it and believed that it must have been an oversight on my part, so I returned with more clothes only to get my dress shirts back still smelling dirty. It was truly disgusting and while they agreed to dry clean them again, they behaved so put out by it and annoyed. More annoying would be to wear a still dirty shirt that you paid to have dry cleaned unsuccessfully but I don't think they see it that way. Either way, there are too many better options in Los Angeles. I will no longer return to Bower & Sons and highly recommend you avoid going there if possible.
This place is unbelievably difficult. They are not only terrible at dry cleaning clothes (clothes came back smelling just they did when they went in!) and when the problem was brought to their attention, they denied it and even went so far as to claim ""they have never messed up"" in their 30 some years of experience.
Now, if you try and work with them and just use their fluff and fold option - all your clothes WILL come back with little lint ball -s all over it. It's a disaster. Save your money and time.
I was overwhelmed by the welcome when I first walked in to the cleaners several months age. First, I was pleasantly surprised by the decor and cleanliness (South Los Angeles!). But also the warm greeting by the staff (thought it was a put-on) on every visit. Now they recognize my car and my clothes are waiting for me by the time I walk in. They do have parking problems... but gave me a bag and now keep my card and preferences on file. So I can drop and go. They say I can just call or honk and they'll come out to the car, I haven't tried but we'll see. They haven't disappointed me yet. I might try their pick-up and delivery.

Bowers Cleaners is the last of the old-tyme cleaners with all of the modern touches that bring meaning to ""you get what you pay for."" In addition to consistent and superior service, the owners make it a point to make you feel good about patronizing the business and being a part of the family. At first reaction, you may feel their pricing is high, but that depends on the value you place on your clothing investment, then you will realize the attention to detail is an art that most cleaners have forgotten. Finally, even though they may be distant from you, they deliver and pick/up.

Bowers and Sons has been great. I live in a building downtown that has delivery service setup with them two days a week. However, on several occasions I've needed some last minute rush service and each time they've made special deliveries with no extra charge or complaint. Like the previous post said, they're very fair and their receipts are computerized and detail every item so nothing gets lost! I even appreciate that when giving them dark colored items (like a black blazer) they return it with a little sticky sheet to clean off any last-minute lint!
They gave me a yellow bag to collect everything in and they keep my details (including payment) on file. I just leave the bag downstairs and I'm set to go! Their physical location is a little out of the way, and the neighborhood's not the best, but with the pickup and delivery service, you can't go wrong.

I only discovered Bowers & Sons Cleaners a couple of years ago. This cleaners is owned by an African-American family/woman who has a record of giving back to the community. Social consciousness is always a plus, in my book.
Anyway, the work is high quality, and the service is very friendly. Reasonably priced, and the receipts are itemized and detailed.
My only complaint is that when I get my clothes back, the buttons come back a bit ""distorted""--some scrapes here and there, and some visible loose threads (some of the buttons appear to be falling off). Perhaps the buttons on some of my shirts are fragile, but they do seen ti come back a bit tattered. I think maybe it's just the drycleaning process, rather than anything the company does, that somewhat damages some of the buttons.
I'm moving, so Bowers & Sons Cleaners is now totally out of my way. I only wish they had a branch in the South Bay area. I highly recommend Bowers & Sons.
