Had my first tattoo done here. During my healing time I felt worried about a couple of things and returned to the shop to get some aftercare advice. It is a real shame that Brian- (the owner) is allowed to deal with customers. For one thing- he won?t treat you like one. Brian instantly assumed I was complaining about my tattoo. Before listening to my questions- he told me that I shouldn?t have got my tattoo in the first place and that I would regret ever having it done- (which is not a nice thing to hear days after being inked) He then went on to tell me that women with my kind of tattoo look `dirty? and can?t get jobs. After actually looking at my tattoo he said it was `three quarters done? and incomplete I left the shop feeling extremely upset by Brian- he has no customer service skills. I now have to find another artist to finish the job properly...

The owner BRIAN is the rudest, sexist and most unprofessional person I have ever come across- someone he has been able to delete my previous reviews and other negative reviews given by others of his extremely terrible attitude. I had gotten my first tattoo from Body Electric and it was a pleasant experience- after a week I went back in for some aftercare advice about some lines that were not properly filled in and was told by Brian that i would regret my tattoo in 5 years time, that WOMEN are unemployable with my kind of tattoo and that the job was only 3/4 done which is why parts weren't filled in. After aggressively throwing down a $100 bill saying ""I just want this problem to go away"" i realised i was not going to get away with this man. Its a shame as everyone else there seems very nice- unfortunate they have to work under someone like that.

I have been to many piercing studios in the Valley (to get pierced and buy jewelry), and had always had mediocre experiences at best. So, when I knew I was ready for another piercing, I decided to do some research before choosing the location this time. All of the reviews I read about Body Electric were exceptional, so I decided to give them a try. It was all true! The minute we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Brian (the shop owner). Although I didn't have an appointment, I was able to see James within 15 minutes, and he was everything that I had read he was! So professional, so sweet, so patient, so accomodating...I could keep going : ) I was REALLY nervous about this piercing, but James explained the entire process to me, and answered ALL of my questions before I even committed to getting it done. They have a great jewelry selection, also, and Brian and James helped me choose the right size and detail for what I wanted. The piercing studio is secluded from the tattoo area, so it's completely private, which I definitely appreciated! Before we started, he talked me through it a little more, so when the time finally came...I was SO at ease. He promised the actual piercing would be over before I could realize what happened. So, while having me do some deep breathing, he pierced me...and kept his promise! It was so quick and easy, James made ALL the difference in the experience. Afterward, he went over care instructions with me (twice!) and even gave me some tips to make the healing process a little more comfortable. James went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable and satisfied, and I would recommend him to EVERYONE who's looking to get pierced. I'm sure I'll want more piercings in the future, and I now I won't be going anywhere beside Body Electric!!

For my first professional piercings, I chose Body Electric Tattoo & Piercing. I've been contemplating these piercings for over a year now, and after much research, I'm overjoyed with my experience. As with previous reviewers, I found James to be wonderful - he was patient, understanding, and approached all aspects of the piercings with great care and clinical precision - it was exactly what I needed considering the nature of my piercings. I appreciated his step-by-step explaination, as well as the on-site disinfecting process. James continually changed his gloves (VERY important to me) and was conscious of gauging my reaction. And most importantly, the skill involved truly lives up to James' rule of ""No guns allowed"".
Wonderful staff, very high-quality jewelry, a definite you-get-what-you-pay-for experience. Now I'm just looking for a excuse for my next piercing.

Seriously skilled Tattoo Artists. From start to finish these guys know how to get it done. I came in with an idea of what I wanted and they made it come to life. Might have been a little more money than expected but it was well worth it.
If you are a local or in from out of town, they are serious about what they do and I would fly back to LA for a repeat.

Had my conches pierced here, and they really know what theyre doing. Very clean and professional! They really take the time to line things up perfect, and get a second opinion from other tattoist/piercer before anything is done.

This place is wonderful. I was looking for a shop to get some regular earlobe piercings for my girlfriend on a Sunday night. I first went to some other tatoo shop on melrose and they directed me to Body Electric.
We had to wait awhile since this place was fully busy on a late Sunday night ! Eventually, Brian came out and did a stellar job of piercing for us. He was very friendly and easy to talk to. My girl was very nervous and he put her to ease right away. She didn't feel a thing.
Now she lovely shiny titanium earrings and we couldn't be happier. We didn't get an tats, so I can't really speak first hand about that. However, there was a cool dude getting some star tats up and down his torso. If I ever decided to get some tats, this would be the first place I would go!

About a month ago decided to get my first tattoo. Wanted a special message done in Japanese Kanji characters. Wanted to get it down on Melrose - - always figured that's where the real pros were; although I didn't want to just walk into some random joint & end up regretting the results the rest of my life. Read a lot of reviews online & by far the most consistently positive ones were for Body Electric.
I can honestly say that the reviews and my experience matched EXACTLY. The staff are really, really friendly and patient. Taka, the artist who worked with me, took a lot of time to help me make sure that I got exactly what I wanted, then he proceeded to do a fabulous job on my tattoo. THANKS BODY ELECTRIC!!!
