I went to Auntie Em's Kitchen expecting the worst after reading some negative reviews about its food and service (on another website). I went anyway (Tuesday noontime) since it's close to home, just to check it out. I was very pleasantly surprised. The place is funky and eclectic, very casual atmosphere. They offer the freshest and tastiest pasta salads I've ever had; they even allowed me to pick and choose what's not on the menu (but on their order-to-go glass shelf). I heard of their legendary cupcakes - so of course, I have to have some of those - and true enough, they are to die for! That Red Velvet cupckae is out of this world! I just had to order to go the other cupcakes (coconut, carrot, chocolate). The servers were very helpful and attentive. Overall, a very positive dining experience. I heard it gets very crowded there on weekends, but weekdays should be no problem.

Just discovered this place yesterday. They don't have many cupcake choices, but what they do have -- chocolate, red velvet, coconut, pumpkin -- are phenomenal. Especially the pumpkin. That has to be one of the moistest, richest and yet lightest and freshest tasting cupcakes I've ever had. A friend of mine bartends for them too and says they're a nice lot. Always good to hear.
This is my fav sandwich place in all of LA. It has a fun and hip atmosphere - none of the plates match and it is very eclectic. The food is fresh with lots of vegetarian selections and the desserts are to die for with awesome red velvet cupcakes, lemon bars and all sorts of cakes and cookies. Go check it out - you won't be disappointed.
