Max's does its job very well - it's a simple, relatively inexpensive collection of singing closets. By the time you're here, you're probably keeping the party going, so you won't mind its modest appearance, the paper-thin walls and the shrill voices of your neighbors. Instead, you'll remember the frequently updated song collections, the BYOB policy, and the helpfully located liquor store across the parking lot.
The have the best selection of songs and reasonable rates. Soda, coffee and snacks are available. However, there is a no alcohol place. Which is a good and bad thing. Check their hours before you show up.
One of the places I miss since moving downtown is The Brass Monkey. I usually ate there once a week. They have great daily specials, especially thier roasted chicken and good salads and sandwiches.
