Honestly, this is some of the best food I've ever had in the Los Angeles area. The restaurant is a bit difficult to find, tucked on a side street in the heart of east downtown L.A., but if you know the restaurant State & Church, it's just across the street. It's a big red door. So, first let's talk about the beer. The menu is filled with artisan Belgian style beers, both imported and domestic. You can't go wrong, but talk to your waiter about what you like, or what you feel like having, and you'll get a good recommendation. Be bold - the selection changes all the time. I highly recommend the Ommegang Witte, if available - sweet, summery, just great. Then the appetizers. There are several mussel dishes to choose from - just pick one. I love the smoked salmon bruschetta - it's out of this world. And the mushroom risotto ... ay yi. I got a taste of the salmon sandwich and one of the burgers - they're pretty much fantastic. But let me tell you, it's all about the smoked wild boar sausage, with pureed roasted sweet potatoes, black kale and pearl onions. I haven't tasted boar sausage like this since my last meal in Venice (Italy, not the beach town). And if you're not adventurous for the boar, head straight for the grilled smoked salmon and taste a bit of heaven. Seriously, this is my new favorite restaurant.

This is our go-to place when we want a quick meal or when we need somewhere local to take guests. It even has the seal of approval from our rather unadventurous parents. The drink selection includes artisan beers and lots of local (and far-flung) wines. I'm always able to get a great glass of Pinot Noir or Shiraz or sometimes enjoy The menu is not huge, but the food is fresh and consistently good. There are even a couple of vegetarian-friendly dishes: the truffle grilled cheese, the mac and cheese, and the portobello burger. If you want a quiet meal, don't go here on the weekend or when there's a Lakers game. A weekday night is best, when you'll easily get a seat in one of their comfy booths. Don't be fooled by the slightly sketchy appearance of York Blvd, The York is a friendly and (almost) authentic British Gastropub - possibly the only one in LA.
Faultline Rocks On Latin Night Fridays! I have Not visited this club in many years. This is one of the few remaining older establishments left in Los Angeles and they are still going Strong! They have various theme nights and back on Friday, November 11, 2016, they had their "Esta Noche" latin night with plenty of Go Go Dancers, along with Live Shows to entertain you. Enclosed in the pictures, please find some examples of what I saw when I was over there. If you are ever in the Vermont Avenue/Melrose Avenue area of Los Angeles and want something different, then please come by and visit. Thank you.
