Congregation Beth Am Reform in Los Altos Hills, Calif., is a reformed Jewish congregation. It practices a lifelong study of Jewish texts, traditions and values that includes the philosophy and practice of Reform Judaism. It preaches individual and communal acts of gmeilut chasadim (lovingkindess), tzedaka (righteous giving) and tikkun olam (repairing the world). It also aims to integrate Jewish practice into home and family life. Its life cycle events (B'nai Mitzvah, ufrufn and baby naming) take place within the context of a supportive congregational community. Beth Am offers a Friday night Kabbalat Shabbat, weekly gates of prayer services and Saturday morning services and the Early Riser s minyan. Services are offered at the Beit Tafilla House of Worship, Beit Midrash House of Study and Beit Kehillah House of Community. The congregation sponsors and manages two funds: the hunger and homelessness fund and the emergency relief fund.
