Bryan began his legal career representing major corporations and insurance companies in cases involving premises liability, automobile accidents, PIP, workers compensation, property damage, and construction defects.

Construction Litigation
In 2006, Mr. Burt enrolled in Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Upon graduation, Mr. Burt moved back home to Ormond Beach, Florida to work in his father’s law firm, practicing construction law and general civil law. In 2012, Mr. Burt moved to Orlando where he worked at a high volume, full-service litigation firm. Mr. Burt specialized in foreclosure defense, representing homeowners in default of their mortgage obligations. After learning extensively about civil procedure and litigation in all phases of a civil case for over two years, Mr. Burt shifted gears and took a position with a boutique litigation firm in Maitland, Florida. Here, he worked exclusively on a highly litigated federal construction loan litigation case as well as general civil cases.
Real Estate Transactions
In 2018, Thomas joined The Nation Law Firm where he represents individuals and businesses in disputes with their own insurance carriers over denied or underpaid claims. In addition to legal experience, Thomas has experience with software development and is proficient in several computer programming languages. Thomas also has nearly a decade of experience with residential real estate transactions and holds a Florida Title Insurance Agent’s license.

In May of 2018, Mr. Burt took a position with the Nation Law Firm. He focuses his practice on First Party Property Insurance claims, representing homeowners in lawsuits against their homeowners insurance companies who deny valid property damage claims or only agree to compensate the homeowner for less than the total cost of repairs.
Prior to joining our team, Mr. Lewis worked at an Insurance Defense firm representing multiple insurance carriers in first party property and personal injury claims. He has handled slip and falls and first party property losses resulting from fire, pipe leaks, animal, hail, windstorms, and hurricanes. With an eye toward supporting his community Mr. Lewis is proud to use his prior experiences to represent members of our community.
Medical Malpractice
Gregory David Swartwood was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He attended the University of Florida and Stetson University College of Law, graduating in May 1990. After school, Greg worked for two years in the State of Floridas Public Defenders Office where he received invaluable courtroom experience representing defendants charged with serious felonies including homicide, robbery and drug trafficking. In April 1992, Greg joined the law firm of Taraska, Grower, Unger and Ketcham, P.A. At this firm, Greg primarily handled medical malpractice actions representing physicians and hospitals.

In January of 2011 Xavier joined a state wide firm based out of South Florida and worked at their Orlando office where he represented clients in the areas of Mortgage Foreclosure Defense, Immigration law, Family Law, and Civil Litigation. Xavier joined The Nation Law Firm in November of 2015 where his primary responsibility is representing homeowners with their property related insurance claims.
