I found out about this restaurant about a year after it had opened and I have been going back ever since. My favorite dishes are the Spaghetti della Nonna and the Fettuccine alla Bolognese - always fresh & tasty! They have a nice selection of wines and the house wine is very drinkable. Don't forget the gelato - for me it brings back great memories of the nightly gelato runs I made while staying in hostels throughout my travels in Italy (considering it was during my college days, and the fact that we did not have a car, made this nightly indulgence okay). Over time Vino & Cucina took over the two neighboring business locations, so they were able to double their restaurant seating and add casual pizza / gelato place. With the expanded restaurant the occasional wait for a table never seems to be too long, and the great flavors of their authentic homemade Italian cuisine are well worth it. Being family owned and operated, you are regularly greeted by the mother, daughter, or another family member as you enter and are seated. Their friendly smiles and eagerness to please make this a restaurant I will continue to share with my friends & family. The food, service, decor, and value at Vino & Cocina are excellent – check out this hidden gem!

I have dined at The Reef on many occassions for many years and I have had the opportunity to refer my friends and educational coharts for various business and social events. I have also had the opportunity to plan many events with the help of the catering staff. We can always find fault with an establishment; however, Of the 30+ times I have had affairs at the Reef; I would have to say that 90% of the time, I have been more than satisfied. This is also true of my friends and coharts who have utilized the Reef's services. The Catering staff is friendly and accommodating. This is also true of the serveers. The food is appealing to the eye and the palate. The view of the harbor and skyline is breath taking. What more can I say, it's a wonderful place to celebrate a wedding, anniversary, birthday, retirement, graduation, or whatever you wish to celebrate. For organizations who wish to have an impressive event, you can't beat the service, food and location. Directions are difficult for some; but once they arrive, they decide getting lost was worth it. If you haven't tried it--try it, you will not be sorry. A happy customer.
Wow, they really transformed this place, what a beautiful job and it has good food too. It really has it all, the service is excellent, very friendly staff, they treat you like a regular even if its your first time. The food is delicious, and beautifully plated I had, the minestrone soup, the Fedelini Pomodoro for a pasta its so good, and they had a special short ribs with risotto absolutely the best I have had. My husband had the tuna carpaccio, we shared a salumi platter, and he had the fish, we both had a great experience. We highly recommend this restaurant. The roof top part of the restaurant is so nice you don't feel like your on second street, it transforms you to a private getaway with a beautiful fireplace and great seating. You must try this new addition to Long Beach.
