Overall
Unpleasant surprise

We went to Fuego expecting a great meal, outstanding service and a view of Long Beach from the Queen Mary side of the bay. We also expected, and got, a hefty bill for our experience.

What we got was a view of Long Beach and a very hefty bill.

The service was terrible. We saw our server when he stopped at the table and left off some little muffins and an order for our drinks which took nearly 20 minutes to arrive, delivered by someone other than the server. About 10 minutes our order was taken, by the server. Much later the meals arrived and were served to the wrong person. One had to be returned because it was not made as ordered. Needless to say, by the time the meal finally got there and we all began to eat our cold dinners we were less than thrilled. The VERY expensive steaks were not cooked as ordered, had lots of fat on them and were tough.

When the server finally bothered to show up with the bill we were not happy and reported this to him. He was told that the meals were not good, the service was terrible and the inattention of him kept us from asking that the meals be served as ordered. To his discredit, he got upset with us. He had offered us a free desert to make up for the shabby treatment. When we refused he got became discourteous but ended with offering us a 25% discount on our NEXT visit.

Upon leaving we attempted to contact the manager. The Hostess went to the manager who refused to come out and talk to us personally.

The following day I wrote an email to the manager. There has been no response.

Finally, we cancelled a luncheon for the next week. Instead, the 20 of us spent our $475.00 at a place where we were valued as customers.

Addendum. That night we were at the Fuego with two servers from another establishment in Long Beach. They said that in their nearly 10 years of experience, each, they never saw any thing as inexplicable as that. On our way home we stopped at another place in Long Beach for desert. The server was so shocked at our treatment by Fuego that he offered to buy us desert!

Overall
Hotel Transportation

The hotel was nice, but in a very remote location. The shuttle service from the airport had difficulty finding it. I found the internet description very misleading. The hotel does not provide shuttle service. We were departing on a Cruise with Carnival, less than 1/4 mile aay and were required to get a cab.
