Chez Bon Guest Home

Chez Bon Guest Home is the WORST board-and-care I have ever seen. The office staff are both verbally and physically abusive towards the residents. They have no special education or training to qualify to work in these types of places. Many times there are situations involving the residents for which some basic knowledge of medicine and psychology are necessary. Because the office employees are seriously lacking in proper training, many times situations are improperly handled with the residents, who are already ill, suffering the consequences of these employees ignorance. One resident has died since I came to live here earlier this year. The quality of the food is so poor I have had to spend my own money for food. Other residents are also doing this. This facility has an excessive number of employees, and MANY times I have observed them standing around doing nothing or playing with their cell phones. Most of the office employees in the office appear to be in their 30s, including the top manager; they are too young and inexperienced to handle the kinds of situations that arise here. Almost every day they are sending residents to psych hospitals. Some of the residents are so fearful of these employees because they frequently try to intimidate them and also BULLY THEM that they don't even tell them when there's a problem. In June of this year, a worker assaulted and battered me and I was very badly hurt and severely traumatized, so much so that I had to start taking an antidepressant because I was having suicidal thoughts. The police were notified about this incident, and even though I filed a report and they have pictures of my injuries, they refuse to do ANYTHING. In the meantime, the worker who did this to me is still working here, and the same thing could happen to other residents. The management is extremely poor in overseeing the operations at this facility. They completely disregard State Licensing, Patients' Rights, and Environmental Health laws. They are currently under investigation by two of these agencies, but so far no legal action has been taken and they are still operating in this manner. I am trying very hard to cope with living in these appalling circumstances until I can find somewhere else to go. I would NOT recommend this facility to ANYONE, especially a loved one. I feel very strongly the only possible remedy is for the appropriate authorities to close this facility down and punish the owners and employees to the full extent of the law.
