Last night we had great sushi at I Sushi restaurant in Denver. The food was delicious and the staff was very professional. The sashimi portions were generous and the fish tasted very fresh. Chef Wei had fresh Scallops as a special, he prepared it for us and we got to taste fresh Wasabi for the first time; I do not want to go back to the wasabi paste restaurants usually serve. We had a great time talking to Chef Wei since we sat at the sushi bar. We drank "Hot Dragon Sake" it was amazing! When customers walked in, it seemed that they knew a lot of them, the chef and the host were welcoming them by their names most of the time. It is obvious that Chef Wei takes pride in his work. We are definitely coming back to I Sushi. I am so glad we found this place.

I have read all of the reviews of the Kobe An and can only ascertain that these customers have never been to Mr. Sushi (Bowles and Wadsworth), or have never had really excellent Japanese food. I have tasted Japanese food all over the United States and Hawaii, and can only say that the food and service at the Kobe An is mediocre. The quality of food provided for the price is not equitable. I heartily recommend Mr. Sushi for those of you who consider the Kobe An excellent Japanese food. I wonder if it is the atmosphere, which is comfortable, as well as the tea rooms that influence your ideas that this is such wonderful cuisine??
Ok, bottom line: Who ARE these people? I am in town for business from coastal California, where we are VERY picky about our sushi bars. I literally happended to stop the car to make a call in front of the restaurant. What a gem this place is!! The uni was so fresh, the rest of the food was...unexpected, high end, innovative, creative. They even had salmon cheek! When one has eaten sushi for decades, one knows quality. This place is now marked in my little black book of favorite spots, and I will be back whenever I am in Denver.
