Sycamore Lane Kennels

Sycamore is the best! I travel frequently and board both my dog and cat often. In my opinion, Sycamore Lane Kennels is the best pet facility in the area! Everything is very clean, and every time i go out there I never even smell dog. I get a friendly welcome from the staff, and they make me feel like family. I love how they treat my pets, but it's also nice to have the personal connection with the girls. I feel so comfortable leaving my babies in their hands!

What a place!!! I'm so glad my neighbor referred me here, otherwise I might not have found this place. I had been very unhappy at my other groomers for awhile, but kept going out of convenience. Had a last straw moment when they butchered my dogs head beyond recognizable as a bichon. Then I heard about Sycamore. Not only is the place just beautiful, but the girl who groomed my dog turned her back into a bichon!! I will never go anywhere else! I haven't tried the boarding yet, but I got a tour of the kennel and its so nice. Doesn't smell like a kennel, its clean and the runs were spacious. Thank you Sycamore!!!

I happened upon the recent reviews while looking up the telephone number for the kennel. I was very diappointed to read such a unflattering review of the staff and services that are offered. I have been and will continue to be a loyal customer to Sycamore Lane Kennels. This has been a result of positive expereinces time and time again. They have cared for my dogs in several capacities, grooming, boarding and classes. The owners and staff have ALWAYS placed the welfare of my dogs as their priority. I see these efforts in the care that is given to my pets, the continuing improvements to the facility and the continuing education of the staff. My dogs are family and I need to know that they are in the best of circumstances when I am not available. Sycamore Lane Kennels is the best facility that I have ever encountered. I alway recommend their facility without hesitation. I would encourage anyone to visit the kennel, observe classes, talk to the staff and judge for yourself if this meets your standards of a first class facility. It certainly does mine!

I am sorry to hear that this person had such a bad experience at Sycamore Lane Kennels. I have been going to Sycamore for years to train, board and groom my dogs. I have never had anything but the most positive of experiences. All of the trainers I have encountered have been great with not only the dogs but with me when I have not known quite what to do. Each trainer has been professional and very knowledgable. I have never encountered a trainer who was rough with the dogs at all and if anything have told me that I need to keep my training more positive. I have taken both obedience and agility classes at Sycamore. I board my dogs at the kennel and would never ever think of letting then stay anywhere else. The facilities are top notch and the caring staff treat my dogs as if it were their own. The girls who groom do so with perfection and want my dogs to look their best leaving the shop. I have never been unhappy with how my dogs are groomed. They even take extra care with my older dog making sure that he is done quickly so I bring him home before he gets sore or tired. I think that Sycamore Lane Kennels is the best place in the area to board, train and have my dogs groomed. I will never go anywhere else. If you don't believe me go check it out for yourself.

We tried the training classes (two, then we quit for good) and were horrified. The class was grossly overcrowded and had only one instructor. The instructor (who clearly had no formal training) was harsh and incompetent. She would tell one owner one thing and another something totally different. She said they only used positive reinforcement, but then called dogs out and VERY roughly jerked them around on their leashes and yelled at them. There was nothing positive except the treats. She rushed through command after command (lieterally doing 6-8 a night). My poor dog was so confused by the end of the hour that he wouldn't even sit anymore. He just stared at me in confusion. Save your dog, and yourself, the heartache.
