I took my truck into archers mobil it order to get it inspected after it had been in an accident, which is a funny story in itself because the truck was parked and my neighbor ran into it, thank god he had good insurance. anyway. After getting a few quotes and ultimately buying the parts myself and having a friend of mine help me fix it. I accidentally told the inspector about this and kinda wish i hadn't because it seemed like he was extra thorough with the inspection checking everything twice. When it comes down to it the truck is more or less good as new accept for one small detail, there is a slight dent in the frame and according the the inspector means that my truck should have been totaled or had the frame straightened when every quote I received ( I had 4) noticed the slight bend but told me it shouldn't be a problem if I do not have alignment problems.not to worry about it because it wont affect the structural integrity at all.



Now I am stuck without a driveable vehicle and I really do feel that it is all their fault I cant wait to find another place to get inspected.



Also besides those problems the inspector was very rude to me about many points on my truck and acted like I was trying to get over on him when all I wanted was my darn sticker. I tell you myself I would be the first one not to drive it if it was anywhere near unsafe.

I brought my mother's car in to get inspected and they flunked it because according to them it needed a new outer tie-rod. They wanted almost $200 to do the work, so I brought it to a more repuatable place that did the work for $70. When I brought the car back to be inspected the next day, the same guy was there and he looked at the car and flunked it again saying the new tie-rod I put in was defective. The kid had a punk attitude and seemed to enjoy telling me that the car failed inspection.



So I go back to the garage down the street that did the repairs and they told me that the problem was the inner tie-rod, not the outer. After getting blown off for 2 days by the manager of Archer Mobil (Gary), I finally stopped in and caught him. He tells me that the kid that did the inspection was "not a mechanic, and should not have told me to replace the tie-rod" Ok, Gary so you are going to fix it at your expense since this is your fault right? Wrong.



He basically tells me tough cookies and tries to shift the blame to the other garage.Where I come from, when you make a mistake, you own up to it and make ammends to whoever you wronged. I hope you read this Gary and know that you may have saved a few bucks by blowing off my complaint, but you have lost a customer who has been buying gas from you for 3 years. Please before you get any service done to your vehicle at Archer Mobil, ask around town. I was surprised by how many negative opinions I heard about them from people I have told this story to. Not only do they have a reputation of over charging for parts and labor, they also do not stand behind the work they do.
