Texas Roadhouse, founded in 1993, is a chain of more than 250 family restaurants located in over 40 U.S. states. The restaurant offers a variety of specially seasoned and aged steaks that are hand-cut daily and cooked to order over open gas-fired grills. It also offers a selection of ribs, fish, chicken and vegetable plates, as well as an assortment of hamburgers, salads and sandwiches. The majority of its entrees include two made-from-scratch side items. Texas Roadhouse offers all guests a complimentary unlimited supply of in-shell peanuts and made-from-scratch yeast rolls. It participates in several community events that range from serving hot bread at church meetings to raising dollars for nonprofit organizations. The restaurant also sponsors talented athletes from across the country. Its special menu items for children include steak fries, vegetables, mashed potatoes, hot dogs, and green and baked beans. The restaurant also runs The Real Bar program for bartenders and service managers. Texas Roadhouse maintains a restaurant in Littleton, Colo.
