General Info:
In 1883, Barney Kroger, with only $372, opened a grocery store in downtown Cincinnati. More than 120 years later, as the supermarket business has evolved into a variety of formats aimed at satisfying the ever-changing needs of shoppers, Kroger has grown to over 2,500 stores in 31 states under two-dozen banners and annual sales of more than $66 billion. Today, Kroger ranks as one of the nation s largest retailers. Kroger has pioneered many innovations in the supermarket industry. During the 1930s, it was the first grocery chain to monitor product quality and test foods. In 1972, Kroger became the first grocery retailer in America to test an electronic scanner. It was installed in a store in suburban Cincinnati. Technology plays an important role in Kroger s store operations, with more than 1,600 Kroger stores offering self-checkout. Kroger spans many states with store formats that include grocery and multidepartment stores, convenience stores and mall jewelry stores. Among the brands it operates are Fred Meyer, Ralphs, Fry s, Baker s, Food4Less, KwikStop and Tom Thumb. Kroger is headquartered in Cincinnati, and maintains a store in Little Rock, Ark.

I have to say after this last ...

I have to say after this last trip to Kroger I'm going to tell everyone I know not to go there. All the other locations I've been to are great but this location needs someone to step in and clean it up. None one seems to care when a mistake is made at the register. The only people I see who look somewhat happy are the reps in the produce dept and on occasion the floral dept. The amount of apathy and the complete and utter lack of respect for the consumer runs rampant at this location. It would be nice to at least be greeted by the cashier but alas that appears to be asking to much.

I think that someone from the divisional or corporate office needs to step in and do some remodeling of this store. The deli case is very small. The bathrooms are frequently out of order and even when clean don't look the best. The parking lot is an absolute nightmare. Its full of holes and bad patch jobs. As busy as this store is I would expect it to look better. Maybe it has something to do with the fact the store is not in the best part of town. I don't know.

Also, while I appreciate the fact there are security guards at the store it is quite alarming that there necessary at all. Plus what is the point of the security guards just sitting in the little golf cart out front rather then working the store inside or at least driving the cart around the dark parking lot.

As I said in the beginning, my recent visit was the final straw. I'll be doing all of my shopping elsewhere and am telling all of my friends to do the same. Keeping a good customer is hard work but apparently good customers don't matter to this store.

All in all, I won't be returning to this store

After speaking with the store manager about my experience he was less that concerned. I requested to have the phone number for the Kroger corporate office. He stated he couldn't find it at that moment but would call me the next day with the phone number. That was a month ago. Just another example of the poor service the Kroger employees at this location give to long time repeat customers.

needs improvement

i am in this store very frequently. they are nice and helpful. they are at a disadvantage due to location and lack of funding. it is an extremely busy store and it needs remodeled. i know the neighborhood is not great but poor people eat too!! all the other krogers are much nicer with larger selections but this one is not. the employees do bust their butts there.
