The American College of Sports Medicine supports the integration of yoga into the exercise regimens. The College cites yoga's promotion of "profound mental, physical and spiritual awareness" and its benefits as a form of stretching, and as an enhancer of breath control and of core strength.
TRX fusion Yoga
Weather a beginner or advanced yogi join us to experience this new offering. Through this practice, participants will be able to decompresstight joints, perform yoga inversions without neck or back compression, stretch further with less strain, and create better body awareness while increasing overall agility. (Because of the hands on supervision this class requires, it is only offered as a private or semi-private session at this time.) Note: If you have Glaucoma, are beyond your first trimester of pregnancy, or have had Botox injections within 24hours, you should not participate in this class.
Yoga Basics
The 3 aspects of yoga practice is presented. Breathing(pranayama), Posture(asana) and Relaxation(meditation). The class presents itself as a tool with many benefits, including reduced stress, increased relaxation and greater flexibility. The essential self-awareness that differentiates yoga from other forms of exercise is explored.
Classic Hatha
A traditional sivananda yoga class with the series of 12 asanas (some challenging options offered.) These asanas enhances flexibility, improves circulation and massage the internal organs; the pranayama increases energy and reduces stress while the meditation helps to conquer the body's daily mental and physical fatigue.
Yoga Stretch
Deep muscular stretches, opening up the entire body. Some yoga asanas are included along with a modified version of the traditional sun salutation. Ujjayi breathing is encouraged while class ends with guided relaxation.
Open Flow
Lots of sun salutations! A fun and upbeat challenging class for all, but you should have an awareness of yoga postures and know your own limitations. Various hand balances and postures that require core strength are explored. Some postures often are held for longer periods of time to increase strength and concentration.
Gentle Yoga
Newbies and seasoned practiticioners alike can show up for this intimate beginners class, where the focus is on alignment and posture, and the slow pace lets you really enjoy each stretch. You're essentially doing baby versions of traditional poses, but learn to properly tuck your tail or drop your shoulders. and tougher moves will start to fall in place.
Power Hour
A blended class! yoga asanas, core strengthening and abdominal exercises. This class provides for an ultimate body renewal experience! It's a high energy and fast paced workout intent on delivering a long, lean, and toned up body. Some yoga and fitness experience required.
Senior Yoga Stretch
A calm and relaxed senior class with lots of deep breathing...Geared for the senior of our yogis! It incorporates, simple stretches, simple yoga postures along with props. for modifications. All are welcome...
Meditation
Using the sensation of breath entering and leaving the body while in relaxation posture, this practice can give rise to deep states of calmness. Its is know as the "one pointed" concentration type of meditation - what Yogis and Buddhists call shamatha or samadhi practices.
Mat Pilates
The focus on building your core or 'powerhouse' strength as the key to good posture and a healthy back. Pilates Mat provides total body conditioning to increase strength, flexibility and endurance emphasizing the alignment of the pelvis and spine as well as conscious breathing for a strong core.
