Service is satisfactory with Amerigas in Lexington SC, but the billing is a pain. Each time they fill my propane tank, I get the slip showing the gallons supplied, and then I immediately (same day) call them, am quoted the total balance, and the next day the check is in the mail. Then three months later, I receive a "late notice" in the mail with a surcharge fee, typically $35. And so I call them, sometimes requiring extra patience to get through, and am told to disregard the bill. At least they are polite on the phone. But it's a hassle every time, getting the "late notice" in the mail. Somebody in their billing department needs to be better organized. This happens with every tank fill, every year. I wonder how many customers (5%? 10%?) just pay the late fee and duplicate bill without question. I've been with Amerigas six years and I am considering dropping their service altogether, if I can just find a way to purchase my own gas tank, as I am tired of "renting" their tank. I have my own car gas tank and free to shop for cheapest gasoline at my convenience, so why can't I have my own home propane tank which would allow me the freedom to shop for the cheapest Propane fillup? If you experience this type of billing practice from them, please call me at 803-407-1600. I am curious how widespread this is. Thank you. RIchard Zimmer. Dutch Fork Driving School Irmo SC
A great place to get your propane cylinders filled. A family run business with great service. Their prices are competative with others. You just drive up, they fill your cylinder and you are on your way!
